Konica Minolta magicolor 3730DN Color Laser Printer
The Konica Minolta magicolor 3730DN Color Laser Printer is a budget-friendly printer, designed with the workplace in mind. Featuring a 250 sheet paper capacity, 25ppm print output, and a 2400 x 600 dpi, the 3730DN is meant to work hard, day in and day out, to provide your business with B/W and color documents efficiently. Not only does the magicolor 3730DN have a respectable print speed, it also uses Simitri HD Toner with Biomass, for vibrant documents that are easier on the environment.
Paper sizes up to 8.5 x 11.7" can be run through the 3730DN, while other media types, such as envelopes and heavy bond papers, are compatible with the printer as well. A manual feed tray allows for insertion of such media. The output tray holds up to 200 sheets of paper at a time. Other highlights of the 3730DN include USB 2.0 and Ethernet connectivity, 32MB of standard memory, and duplex, or two-sided, printing. The magicolor 3730DN is also Energy Star qualified, making it a smart energy choice for most settings.

Easy to setup and install. Appreciate the print speed and the duplex feature. Color quality is also good. The manual feed function is too sensitive and only allows single sheet feed. Have ruined several envelopes and sheets of labels due to misfeeds and don't appreciate having to hand feed legal size sheets one at a time!

The 3730 DN was a replacement for a much used and appreciated Magicolor 2430 DL. So far, the 3730 looks to be as solid and reliable as the 2430 with outstanding print quality.
The only drawback with the 3730 is that I could not find a Linux driver.

I bought the magicolor 3730DN printer to replace my magicolor 5500.
I have a small office setting, printing about 100 color flyers a month.
The printer arrived on 5/13/2011, and 2 days later the printer screen said the black, magneta, cyan and yellow toners were empty.
I removed the toner cartridges and they all were almost full so I put them back in and the printer, which still insisted they were empty!
I removed all 4 and replaced each cartridge with a brand new one to solve the problem, but it did not!
For within 2 days after being put in the printer the new cartridges as well, read empty.
I went to the konica minolta website and talked live online with their Rep. Raul about my printer problem.
He said the toner sensors could be faulty and/or might have began to fail. He also said this was a problem some people were having with the printer so the company was currently looking into it.
I've returned the printer to B&H.
The Konica Minolta 5500 Magicolor printer served me well, till an accident, ended it's life! However: till they get the bugs out, I don't recommend buying their Magicolor 3730DN.

Plus: It prints very fast. Quality of the prints are great.
Minus: We use this printer in small office setting. We've only had the printer for a few months and toners are getting low already. To replace all the toners we had to spend almost $500, almost double the price of the printer. The multi use paper tray is not even a tray its just a slit in the side of the printer to feed single sheets of paper one at a time. So all the print-outs come out crooked, terrible design.

I like that it's a networked printer and outputs 24 (if I remember right) ppm for both bw & color. I've used the magicolor series for many years and they are the best at that price point that i've found.
The only trouble we've had with it is the paper tray gets stuck out sometimes, but our table is not completely flat, either.
