The HD 218i on-ear stereo headphones from Sennheiser provide high-quality sound in a lightweight and comfortable design. The headphones have neodymium drivers to provide high-quality sound with a wide frequency response, while the closed-back design provides a controlled sonic environment and helps to block out ambient noise.
The earcups are individually adjustable for a personalized fit. Soft on-ear cushions provide lasting comfort and help to reduce background noise. The adjustable, padded headband fits virtually any head size. The single-sided cable resists tangles and has a standard 3.5mm stereo plug for connecting to MP3 players, CD players, and more. The cable features an integrated microphone and 3-button remote that allow you to make phone calls, take voice notes, control music playback, and adjust volume on compatible smartphones and MP3 players, such as the iPhone and iPod touch.

I bought these for work as they had a single cord, mic/remote, and were low profile. I was impressed with my Sennheiser HD280s that I figured these would be just as good. The sound isn't as good, but for the price I couldn't have expected a lot. The ear cushions were a little cheaper feeling than I was expecting too. But overall, they have fit my needs quite well and I would definitely suggest them to others who aren't looking for audiophile quality headphones, want/need the mic/remote, and/or just something small that isn't cheaply made.

I bought this headphones for video editing because of my experience with Sennheiser mics on set, but they were small (they fell like airplane headphones), didn't block exterior noise, the cable was short and very thin&cheap. I thought that Mic/Remote was a cool extra feature but I found out that it was the only feature for this headphones. I returned them and got a pair of Sony MDR-7506 (only $4 more) that work great for video editing, audio editing/mixing or audio monitoring on set.
Maybe it was a bad choice for my needs but I'm very disappointed with Sennheiser, I usually love their audio gear but not this time.

Comments about Sennheiser HD 218i On-Ear Stereo Headphones with Mic/Remote:
I use these headphones to listen to videos on my iPad (mostly television shows broadcast on network apps) while I exercise. I was looking for lightweight, over the ear headphones, as opposed to earbuds.
These headphones are the exact weight and style I was hoping for. They have their own volume control which is helpful. But the real plus is the sound quality. It is excellent, especially for such inexpensive headphones.

I needed comfortable light weight headphones cuz my neighbor complains about the noise. These do the trick. More importantly , however, is how much I LOVE B & H. The prices are always less than elsewhere and Checkout is painless and efficient.

Bought these a few weeks ago after my Apple earbuds fizzled out. They work very well, although not so much for working out (they fall off rather easily).

Comments about Sennheiser HD 218i On-Ear Stereo Headphones with Mic/Remote:
The sound is decent and it wears comfortably. The pads help cut out some noise. The inline mic & controls are very nice and even work with Skype and iTunes on my Mac. The construction and wire are not as durable as they should be. One should be especially careful with the thin cord. I'd like to find a better quality set, but these will work fine for now.

These phones have a great sound for not a boat load of cash. The on the wire controls work well with my iPod touch. I am a little concerned about the exceptionally thin wire. (Time will tell)

My cord faulted in about 6 months putting me back in the market for headsets. The sound could be better. The volume gain on this headset can be improve. The best thing about this model is the remote to answer incoming calls on your iphone. Other than that, it falls flat. You could spend your money on better headsets like the Bose brand. I'm currently shopping to purchase a Bose headset.

Comments about Sennheiser HD 218i On-Ear Stereo Headphones with Mic/Remote:
Nice integration with the iPhone 4S. Worth the sale price of about [$], but not more. Frequency response is good. Could be punchier with frequencies below 250 Hz. Having a frequency response above 20kHz allows better opportunity to NOT hear compression of transient frequencies that ARE present over 20kHz. Volume controls a nice touch. Easy to use. Nothing exceptional, but solid enough for the intended purpose. Works well enough with my older iPod device, too. Very comfortable to wear on the ears for extended periods of time. Mostly plastic, so do not abuse them unnecessarily. A general comment RE: ALL cords to these types of headphones, earbuds, etc.: They are FAR TOO flimsy. Manufactures: BEEF it up! It would only add a couple of dollars to the product and potential consumers would certainly be willing to pay a few extra dollars for a much better cord!
