Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FX78 Digital Camera (Black) is a full-featured image-making powerhouse inside the body of a tiny (3.9 x 2.17 x 0.81") compact digital camera--it has a 12.1MP high-speed CCD sensor, a 5x wide-angle Leica zoom lens (24-120mm equivalent in 35mm format) with a bright f/2.5 aperture, and a large 3.5" touch-screen LCD monitor.
Plus, full 1920 x 1080 HD video with Dolby sound, an optical image stabilizer, touch-screen control of AF, zoom, and shutter, and really fast autofocus and start-up. Superb shooting modes like Cosmetic (you can remove wrinkles in a face or give it a suntan) and Beauty Retouch (choose eye shadow, cheek and lip color, foundation, whitening teeth, clear skin, eye emphasis, and removing the shine from a face). 8 color modes give you plenty of artistic license for creativity, and you can even make 3D photos.
And when you're done creating, Lumix Image Uploader makes it simple to share your photos and movies by uploading them to sites like Facebook or YouTube.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX78 Digital Camera (Black):
I purchased this camera after reading reviews, however I am dissapointed because image quality of the camera is not really sharp (Generate some noise), specially at low light conditions.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX78 Digital Camera (Black):
I got this camera to give my neck a rest from the weight of my D7000. Surprisingly, I didn't expect the results. The camera is small and sleek and fits well in pants or jacket pockets. It seems a bit easily scratched but that just mean a nice small case could offer some protection on that end. I use the camera at school and in formal settings where a DSLR would turn a few heads. I even use it to capture shots of our new born and older daughters school functions.
The pictures are of much better quality than that which I had expected. Quite frankly in comparison with the D7000, I see a small difference in the quality of the picture given similar conditions. Only the zoom range and diversity is missing. As a Point and shoot though, it is a shot above the rest.
To complement the high grade pictures, there is also the video capabilities. I am truly impressed with the picture quality. You will be hard pressed to differentiate between the videos taken on this puppy with other higher end models. Panasonic must have packed in some of the Blu-Ray technology because the video is quite stunning.
I love most of all, the fact that this is a cutting edge camera as it enables me to get the sdxc flash drive. Video is no problem because the SD card can handle the speedy requirements of both multiple pictures and video recording.
This is a truly amazing little piece of technology and you should get one especially if you have events that you really would prefer not to chug along with a massive DSLR.
Go get yours today.
