Viewsonic VA2448m-LED 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Display
The VA2448m-LED 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Display from ViewSonic is a high-quality monitor with a native Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and a LED backlight. LED technology uses 30% less power than traditional CCFL lamps, does not require warm up time, and does not contain toxins such as mercury that are harmful to the environment.
It features an anti-glare finish, 1000:1 (10,000,000:1 dynamic) contrast ratio, 250cd/m² brightness rating, 170°/160° viewing angles, and 5ms response time for optimal image quality. A number of ViewSonic-exclusive technologies add functionality to the display. Automatic aspect ratio adjustment ensures that 4:3 content is displayed correctly on the LCD, without distortion. Eco-mode reduces power consumption and extends the life of the backlight. Built-in stereo speakers provide rich, clear sound.

Big, sharp and vibrant. This monitor is big enough to give you plenty of workspace for Photoshop and Lightroom, but not so big as to take over your entire desk. An excellent monitor for the price.
I took off one star because, as others have said, the stand is a little flimsy. It does not have a height adjustment. The bottom of the screen (image area, not monitor frame) is about 4.5" above my desk. This is perfect for me, but may bother some users.
No dead pixels on the one I received.

I use this monitor daily - from email to complicated graphic design to an occasional game and Viewsonic's quality is always quite amazing. I am extremely pleased with everything about this monitor - its specs were some of the best out there while it's price was quite low.
There are 2 things I do not like about the monitor - the speakers are useless and the controls and a pain in the you know what. I have switched back to my regular desktop speakers. The other thing is the exterior frame is shiny black plastic. It looks great - but it is a dust, hair, anything magnet and is constantly in need of cleaning. This is NOT an exaggeration.
While I do not recommend this monitor, I DO recommend Viewsonic highly - but look at the finish and where the controls are - and don't bother with the speakers - they aren't worth it. If I could return this, I would.

I have had the monitor for only two weeks. So far it has worked flawlessly. The display is very bright and clear. It took me a while to get the display "optimized." Not being familian with flat panel monitors, I wasn't quite sure what that involved. In layman's terms, it involved setting the computer's display card so that it was set at the right resolution. When I did that, the display changed from using only part of the monitor width the using the entire width. With that done, I then had to learn how to resize the photo I used as my desktop background, so the people in the photo didn't look squashed.
