I read all of the reviews and decided that those that bad-mouthed this product had poor equipment before the HDMI cable. And I was correct. The speakers stink. But that's normal on ALL monitors, unless you've got a 2500 dollar monitor, and if you do, you WON'T be buying this product. Throw the provided CD in the trash can. It's not needed. The screen from the factory is ULTRA bright, and believe me, you WILL turn it down, just figure out the menu display. The picture is great for CAD as well as streaming movies. It's crisp and CLEAR. There is some light bleeding around the edges in a dark room, but EVERY LCD monitor I've ever seen bleeds a little. This sits next to a 1920x1200 sammy T240 HD, and I had to jack it up a little to be even with the sammy unit on 1920x1080. The 23.6" screen is a match in height to the sammy. It took me a couple of days fiddling off and on with the color, but it's correct now. TRON looked exceptional when it came on streaming a few weeks ago. NOBODY can go wrong on this unit. And I have to say thanks to B&H for this super good deal....

This is really a video monitor, not a computer display (as listed by B&H). When I connected it to a computer, it did not show the full desk top--in fact, the menu bar at the top of the screen was off the display. Using the controls it was possible to "underscan" the image--zoom out until the menu bar was visible. But when I did that, the image quality was degraded. This behavior makes me think that the native pixel count of the display is less than the advertised 1920x1080. Bottom line--I returned the 2 displays I had bought.
As a video monitor, this could be an OK unit, if you don't mind losing the outermost part of the picture. But that's really something that mostly disappeared with the CRT. There's no reason for it in a LCD unit. Picuture quality was decent, but there was no noticeable benefit from the LED illumination.

It is my main monitor for my new desktop and a nice change from the 22" Viewsonic it replaced. I have never seen as crisp a display as this one, and picked up for a great price. Nothing negative to say about it.

Comments about Viewsonic VX2453mh-LED 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Display:
I am a heavy computer user who sits in front of a monitor ten to twelve hours a day, practically every day of the week, while playing World of Tanks and Shogun2. I purchased this unit after my five year old 22 inch Samsung started to flicker intermittently.
I appreciate the larger screen size of this unit and its reasonable price. I don't know whether I will notice any appreciable reduction in energy consumption but one can only hope it lives up to its specs.
The OCD takes a little getting use to but once you get the hang of it one can easily navigate the menus.
I detect a slightly cooler color hue with the unit whenever I am viewing something with a white background. But it seems to disappear whenever a multicolored screen is presented.

Great value per cost. Excelent resolution and performance, vivid colors. Easy to set up. Very light -not bulky-. The only issue is that came with a dead pixel. Sound is not great but is not used.

This monitor is very light, all of the reviews seemed great, the price was great, but text and email was very blurry. I tried to deal with it for a few days, but I had eye strain, and couldn't deal with my email being blurry or out of focus.
I was using this monitor with a 15" MBP, and ended up returning this prduct for an acer monitor.

I was informed right away on my question as to what is the status of my shipment (product was being ordered thru the warehouse so there was a delay in the product shipment -- which I was already aware of). I then received my shipment as they had told me (5-7 days) which was on the fifth day. I received my monitor in GREAT condition and after setting it up to work for video games and movies, it is Fantastic!! Thank you B&H (I was referred here by a online gaming friend)!

Comments about Viewsonic VX2453mh-LED 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Display:
I was recently shopping around to find an LED monitor and I came across this one. Although it's not a full LED, but it's just amazing! I agree with other reviewers that if you type fast on a desk that is not stable, it might wobble a bit which is "ok" for now.
I like the fact that it's light weight, the picture quality is great too!
I also got a DVI->HDMI adapter [...] to connect it to my MacBook Pro - works perfectly well. I tried Windows 7 and Mac OS X -> both are awesome.
No dead pixels or whatsoever. I think the only minor downside for me is that it's not that stable on the table due to its weight - that's it so far. (I'll post an update in a few months).
I played World of Warcraft on it and it looks awesome!
I highly recommend it :)!
Hope that helps!

Comments about Viewsonic VX2453mh-LED 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Display:
When I started spending more and more time working on multiple spreadsheets and power points at the same time in my MBA program, I decided to finally go in for an external monitor for my laptop.
I specifically wanted a good quality 1080p monitor that took HDMI input and had some kind of built in speaker.
Everything about this product turned out to be just as good as I had heard. It was super easy to setup, and had multiple positions - directly on the table like a picture frame, or by attaching the supplied stand. I have been using it for a couple of weeks, and I am very satisfied with it in all but one respect.
The built in speakers are really bad. Even my laptop speakers are better than that, kind of defeating the purpose of getting a monitor with built in speakers. That might just be because my laptop has pretty good speakers(HP Envy 14) but still, I had expected more. Also, the SRS Premium Sound software which is supposed to make the monitor speakers sound much better doesnt always work properly, and instead amplify the sound coming out of my laptop speakers.
That apart this monitor is quite perfect!! I would highly recommend it as long as you dont expect anything from the built in speakers.

I use this monitor as my home-base main screen for everthing I do PC wise - E mail (lots of them), browsing, CAD file viewing and as a foundation for my audio recording workstation.
It is perfect for all.
I have it connected to 2 PCs. One older one, via VGA, and via HDMI to a new one, so I can flip back and forth, depending on my task at the time.
it worked just fine out of the box, no set up needed. It is big, bright and crystal clear.
The speakers are a bit thin sounding, but I use a monitor amp most of the time, so I don't care. I bought it to look at , not to listen to.
No regrets in buying this. Great visual bang for the buck, if you'll pardon the mixed metaphor.

I bought this monitor because it has good picture quality and Viewsonic is a good brand with a good warranty (3 years). It has 2 HDMI ports, 1 VGA port and comes with a HDMI and VGA cable. The sound is horrible as it is on most monitors with integrated speakers, so you will need to buy new speakers. A decent pair costs about $25.The stand is flimsy and unadjustable up or down. The monitor viewing angle is adjustable front to rear. The controls are side mounted and awkward to adjust.Despite these caveats, I would still recommend purchasing this computer because you want it primarily for the picture quality.I purchased it from B&H because they had the best price at the time [...]. I've had no problems with the monitor so far.

This is in use at home and replaced a 4x3 format monitor a couple of weeks ago. I'm pleased with it and am using the HDMI interface to a HP laptop. The speaker sound is poor with little or no base even with the added Viewsonic Bally-hooed add-on software (I couldn't tell any difference using it). All pixels are good. The only reason for the one-star deduction is that the selection I had to use to make screen text sharp results in about a 3/4 black space all around the edges of the screen resulting in wasted space.

Love the monitor. Hooked it up to my new HDMI-out tower and was astonished. I went with the viewsonic after a lot of research, it fit all my criteria including the available bookstand. Love it so far.
