Comments about Sony KDL40EX523 40" LED TV:
B&H didn't just send the boxed TV; They opened it and added additional bubble wrap as an extra precaution against damage. It arrived safely and ahead of schedule. I assembled it with ease, plugged it in and started watching. The picture is superb. We are totally satisfied with both the product and the the service. Bravo and our unqualified thanks.

Comments about Sony KDL40EX523 40" LED TV:
I have Time Warner cable. Was disapointed when I first got the TV for the picture was fuzzy, definitely far from 1080i. I was close to returning the TV, but then I found out that I needed a box from the cable company to convert the cable to High definition. The box was installed, and the picture is incredible. The depth, contrast and clarity of the picture is so real. It's as if I can reach inside the TV. Sony did it again!! Pleased that I went with the 40" instead of the 32". It is unfortunate that the cable company requires a box in order to receive a clear picture....and naturally the cable box is an additional expence per month. So I pay for the cable, then I pay for a box to make my TV work!! Which is no fault of Sony. In summary, the TV is awesome!! Long live Sony!!

This TV failed within 3 weeks of setup. The menus are hard to navigate and picture requires professional help to achieve optimum results. Once adjusted properly the picture quality is excellent. The internet menus are slow and difficult to navigate. SONY product support is terrible. If you buy a SONY better buy two so that you can use the spare while they fix or replace your new set with a used one, the process takes weeks.

Easy to set up, but I haven't completed the internet connection w/ the wireless router yet. Can't believe how thin it is. If you are putting it on a wall this is the one to get.

Comments about Sony KDL40EX523 40" LED TV:
I watch TV every night and also at other times.I like recurring programs like Desperate Housewives and Law and Order. This Sony is the latest in many Sony products I have bought over the years.
It is more than just a TV set.As soon as you connect your cable, you are in business.
And if you have Netflix, a separate button on the remote,in red, you can go to the movies whenever you choose.
As far as all the other stuff, like picture, sound, etc.,that is all subjective and subject to reception variations. I am very happy with all of those, but, since I remember all the small screen, black and whites I have watched in my life, I am not fussy or spoiled with a giant sized,40 inch,LED,stereo sound and blazing color set.
It was not heavy and the stand was easy to do, if you read and follow the directions.I placed it on a cabinet with my cable box(DVR) and I can record anything with ease.
A good cable company is a must with such a sophisticated technology as this set is. and you can attach components if you want to wake up and aggravate your whole neighborhood. Not a good idea in brooklyn. Headphones is a good choice, though.
I bought this for myself and the only advice I got was from a family member to buy an LED>
I was amazed when I downloaded Netflix, with help from a very patient Sony support service rep. on the telephone, onto the Sony TV and watched how the computer combined with the Sony.To me,that was the 21st century.
and,for me, Sony and B&H is where it's at!
