The Vello SE-10 Cold Shoe Extension is a 4" bar that attaches to the shoe mount on your camera, and allows you fit more than one attachment to your camera (microphone, light, etc.), without interfering with camera operations. A double locking nut allows the bar to slide from side to side and to rotate. The bar has a 1/4"-20 female socket and a shoe on the bottom.

Does it work, YES...but I would not put much weight on it being that it's made out of plastic!!! For the price, I really was expecting metal. I did however just try it out being it's a new product to the B&H store and there were no reviews.
I use this with a Canon mini shoe adapter to mount a Zoom H4n and Azden SGM1X to the top of my camera.
Overall, I would use this to mount a light weight LED light that you want to slide left or right, much more than that and you start to over-load it.

The ideal is great but needs some work to make better. I don't like that it's made of plactic.
It's hard to tighten down on camera with out it moving around. I think that if it was all metal it would stay in place.

This little attachment for extra shoe mounts is great. I use it to attach my microphone and light and it works wonderfully. It's small, durable, and is able to attach multiple shoe mounts. Great product!

This is a very solid shoe extension. All aluminum construction, should last much longer than other plastic extensions. Very versatile. It can adjust the full length of the top and bottom rails.

I use the extension with my K-120 On-Camera LED Video Light Kit. It is solid and versatile. I can also use it to attach a wireless mike receiver on smaller camcorders.

Comments about Vello SE-10 Cold Shoe Extension:
This is a great item to have if all you want to do is attach a LED light and a microphone to your camera's cold shoe. It's just long enough for two devices. That's all I needed, and this does the job perfectly. Essential piece of gear for a one-person DSLR videographer who doesn't want a full-blown cage around the camera.
