The Ikan iLED 312 On-Camera Dual-Color LED Light is a compact and powerful source of illumination that brings a lot to the table. Unlike the many lower-end LEDs sprinkling the web like fireflies, the iLED 312 puts a premium on the quality and features required by serious run-and-gun shooters. Those include variable color temperature (3200-5600K) for shooting indoors and out, a built-in dimmer for precise illumination, AC/DC power, two long-lasting onboard batteries (with dual charger), and a 6" articulating arm allowing for flexible placement.
And that says nothing about the quality of the light, which is produced by 312 LED bulbs that cast a wide, bright beam on your scene without ever getting hot to the touch. The two included Sony L-type batteries assure extended operation times, while a diffusion filter and the ability to adjust both color and intensity provide you with the ultimate control. So close the lid on that jar of fireflies – the iLED 312 is here to lead the way.

Comments about Ikan iLED 312 On-Camera Bi-Color LED Light:
I bought this to replace my old tungsten Anton Bauer on board light and to upgrade from a smaller LED on board light (5600k) which was ok but a little to spotty. This little puppy does the job at a reasonable price.

Comments about Ikan iLED 312 On-Camera Bi-Color LED Light:
For the price, this light is well worth it. The bi-color feature makes all the difference. No need to put filters and gels over it. Very nice.

Comments about Ikan iLED 312 On-Camera Bi-Color LED Light:
I've been shopping for a video light for a while. After reading lots of reviews[...], I settled on this one. I can understand peoples' concern with the build quality. The case is rigid plastic and you can just feel that if it took a hard hit, that it would crack quite easily. However, I tend to be overly careful with my equipment and am not too worried. The brightness and ability to adjust the color temperature impressed me a lot. I originally bought this as a video light for wedding receptions but I'm now using it for product photography as well. Because of it's adjustable output, this light is very versatile

Comments about Ikan iLED 312 On-Camera Bi-Color LED Light:
I only got to use this once before I had to send it back for replacement - one bank of LEDs was intermittent.
Build quality is so/so. Unit is very light and the plastics feel thin enough that I hope never to drop it. I also have to get out of the habit of adjusting my camera light by grabbing the head and turning it, as I'm liable to snap it right off the mount.
Everything works fine. Not awesome, but not bad. Dimmer and color temp dials could be a little more smooth, but overall I it worked well and I'm waiting for my return so I can use it again.
While I've got reservations about it's durability, it was the only light I could find in the price range with this kind of output and the ability to dial any color temperature between daylight and tungsten.
The two supplied batteries and charger work well. The charger charges both batteries simultaneously, and it seemed like I could expect decent run-time. I also bought the PowerTap cable so I could run the light from my AntonBauer gold mount batteries. It's always good to have options.
The light also came with a diffusion gel, but there's absolutely no point to it as the LEDs extend from edge to edge and the gel is no larger, it fits right in front. I suppose I'll keep mine on just to protect the LEDs but other than that the only purpose is to dim the light a bit.
I almost bought the IKan Multi-K light as it seems to be positioned as the more "pro" light... but I preferred this light's adjustable dial to the Multi-K's 5 preset colors. The Multi-K is cheaper, but does not include the arm mount, so they wind up about the same in the end (but the Multi-K still requires a PowerTap and comes with no batteries).
