The ergonomically-designed Aleratec High-Speed Flexible USB 2.0 4-Port Hub with Splitter Cable allows you to expand a single USB port to 4. Unlike many USB 2.0 hubs that plant additional USB ports in a rectangular box, this hub's splitter cable connects from your computer's USB port and extends out into four cables. At the end of each of these four cables is a USB 2.0 port. This method allows you additional space and flexibility when connecting USB peripherals, such as a mouse, DVD-ROM drive, or portable hard drive. Since this hub is Plug and Play, you can immediately connect and then use it without having to first install drivers. Claims to be a 2.0 USB hub, but my PC tells me that it does not work as a high speed connection.
External hard drives, printers and even flash drives do not work.
I bought this on a recent visit to New York and if I didn't live in Spain would send it back!

i HAVE A DATED DELL WITH WINDOWS XP AND HAD BEEN HUNTING FOR WEEK FOR A WAY TO INCREASE MY USB INPUTS TO ADD MORE EQUIPMENT. HAVING FOUND THIS PRODUCT INCREASED MY INPUTS BY 4 AND NOW I HAVE EXTRAS IF NEEDED. DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY..THEY ARE ECONOMICAL AND WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.

Do not buy this device. It is not a high speed device and will go offline after you reboot or hibernate your computer. After that you need to power down your devices or reinstall the devices that were connected to your computer using this USB hub.
