The kit comes with a number of items, including rocks, a honeybee wing, and shrimp, to stimulate curiosity. The microscope also comes with items to help examine specimens, including: a needle probe, eye dropper, tweezer, 2 blank glass slides, 3 prepared glass slides, 1 hole slide, and a light diffuser. The microscope itself is a monocular biological scope with a 10x to 20x eyepiece and 4x, 15x, and 30x objectives. The microscope has powers from 40x to 600x.
