The Bench Press Vintage Compressor by BBE Sound simulates the sound and effect of the highly sought after Ross compressor. Finding an original Ross in reliable condition is near impossible or else can cost you on average up to four, five, even six times more than the price of the Bench Press.
A NOS CA3080 OTA (Operational Transconductance Amplifier) sits at the heart of the Bench Press along with 1% metal film resistors and a true hard-wire bypass for ultimate fidelity. Improving upon the original Ross compressor, the Bench Press also includes an additional attack knob offering more flexibility and control over how quickly the compressor decreases gain. The Bench Press can be placed at the beginning of your signal chain for traditional compression effects or is equally as useful placed after an overdrive or distortion to help smooth harmonics when arpeggiating chords.- Simulates the sound and effect of the highly sought after Ross compressor
