Canon's Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera (Blue) packs a whole galaxy of features into its compact (3.67 x 2.20 x 0.78"/9.3 x 5.5 x 1.9 cm) and lightweight (4.27 oz/121 g) body--a 12.1MP CMOS high resolution sensor, 4x wide-angle 28-112mm lens (equivalent in 35mm format), and full 1920 x 1080 HD video with stereo sound, for starters.
It's also got the advanced HS system delivering clear, sharp photos with detail and nuance in low light, with high or low ISO images. Optical image stabilization keeps away the shaky pictures and video, and Smart AUTO recognizes and sets optimal exposure, shutter and focus settings for 32 predefined shooting situations. The Super Slow Motion Movie mode records video at 240fps for a very slow motion playback, and the High-Speed Burst mode allows you to shoot still photos at up to 8.2fps.
A large range of creative effects is available, including fisheye effect, miniature effect (stills and video), toy camera effect that creates a vignette similar to pinhole cameras, monochrome, super vivid, color accent, color swap (pick one color in a photo and replace that color with another of your choice), long shutter to blur moving objects for artistic effect, and many more. This ELPH is ready to serve.

It's BLUE and looks NICE only in THIS COLOR. Start up is fast. Pictures come out NICE & SHARP. Low-light pictures are AWSOME. I took a picture near my bedroom sink where it is really really dark and guess what, it made it look like day. The only reason I brought this camera was for the LOW-LIGHT, where I can take pictures out at night specially when im going to miami beach where there are neon lights and pretty colorfull buildings. I agree buttons in this, is a bit smaller. when I press I dont know where I am pressing sometime, but it will take a while to get use to it. Price wise... [$] is a good price better then paying 200 dollers and more specially in [...], they are expensive!! but I searched and waited and read reviews I decided this is the one!! I would buy this camera again or the NEW canon powershot elph500 for low-light. One other thing. when taking videos it does not zoom. I don't care cause I already own a jvc camcorder. [...]

I have owned 6 Canon cameras of various types. I like the consistency of knowing and understanding the controls. The camera is very small and easily fits in your pocket. I have only taken a few shots so far, and they turned out fine. My main complaint is that now the controls are so small, I find it hard to use. I have small hands, and I am fairly dexterous. So I am not sure how someone with large hands would manage with this camera.

I purchased this for my teenage daughter as a Christmas present. She loves it and we find it takes great pictures for a camera in this price range (we paid [$]). Although this camera is not a high end camera it is a great camera for fun everyday use and the video was better than I expected.

Takes excellent, sharp pictures. The image stabilizer must work very well, because I have unsteady hands, and yet my pictures come out great.

Small and easy to use. HD movies are really crisp.
Gift for my wife at Christmas. She wanted a small, light weight camera she could carry in her pocket or purse.

We use the camera for general family pictures,
Love to be able to carry it around in my purse and always have it available - it is so small
take clear pictures with great clarity
so far it has been very easy to use - I did not load the software that came with it because I like loading directly onto my computer and not bother with their editing software ( I use shutterfly so don't really need another editing program and if I do will use the Adobe Photoshop Elements that I have.)
Only thing that I don't necessarily like is that it has no viewfinder (just the digital screen) and sometimes when it is bright outside it can be hard to see those screens (haven't really tried that yet so can't say if it will be the case with this screen)

First camera I have owned in a very long time. I did alot of looking before selecting the Powershot. The owners manual is easy to follow, the camera is not only a beautiful blue color (accidently selected) but it takes beautiful action and stationary pics - easy to handle.
Very, very happy with my purchase.

I've gone through many point & shoot cameras, but this one if by far the best! And the price is a steal! Unlike many other cameras, the focus on this one is fantastic, and makes my pictures look professional! I would recommend this camera to anyone!!!

Photos good, LCD amazingly sharp, external charger is not good. In my previous Canon I did not need one.
How do I ever connect the strap? Why does it have to be so complicated?

Comments about Canon Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera (Blue):
I & my husband used the camera for our Caribbean dive trip and were so surprise by the features of this camera ! I did a huge research on that and came up with the Elph 100 and I am so happy with the choice. Plus, it served as a "back up camera" for our sightseeing experience. And we realized that we do not need a super expensive camera to take great pictures. As a matter of fact, our pictures were much better than others taking by people we know, that invested more than 1000-2000 dollars on their equipment ! Amazing picture/video quality and many functions to choose from makes it a great camera. It makes you feel like a professional...Bad things, only bring along more than 1 battery. If you go " picture-crazy" you will need a extra one ( which might happen with most of the cameras ) and have a extra memory card too cause as more pictures has inside, camera works slower therefore, a little shutter delay too, So, plann ahead.

Comments about Canon Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera (Blue):
Had been meaning to buy a digital camera for some time. My Kodak Advantix took beautiful pictures but the cost of film and developing was getting huge, and the CDs were not high quality. Consumer Reports recommended this camera for ease of use and quality of pictures. I didn't realize when I bought it that it was also a movie camera. Went on vacation and was able to get high quality photos and videos of various events. And it's easy to transfer the pictures and videos to my computer. At less than $200, this is a real buy, and it fits into my handbag easily. I can take it everywhere!

Very vesatile camera for a my teenager to travel with. Only caution is to buy the warranty as we have had issues with similar Canon cameras where the lens does not retract which, if you do not have the warranty, makes it cheaper to buy a replacement then to fix. Having said that, this purchase is a replacement as the camera is worth it.

Comments about Canon Powershot 100 HS Digital ELPH Camera (Blue):
This Canon didn't disappoint. The Powershot 100 takes great HD videos and offers lots of photo modes to play around with to make your vacations more interesting. It's a perfect size for snapshots and quick videos. My only complaint is the recessed buttons on the back of the camera are a little difficult to press unless you have very dainty fingers.
