Vello's FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release - 2.4GHz is a complete lightweight remote control outfit that provides a way to trip your camera's shutter while avoiding any possible unwanted camera movement. The FreeWave Plus works in either wired or wireless mode. This is ideal for photographing wildlife, and for macro and close-up photos or long exposures, where the slightest camera movement can ruin a picture.
With the dual function release, press halfway to focus, then press all the way to trigger the shutter. A four-second delay function makes it easy to produce self-portraits. Working on the 2.4GHz frequency gives you reduced radio interference and an extended range (up to 320' (100 m))--you don't need to have line-of-sight alignment, either, as radio waves will pass through walls, windows and floors.
This remote control will work with virtually any major brand of camera--just switch the dedicated release cable. LED indicators confirm pre-focus and exposure when in wireless mode. The FreeWave Plus is capable of multiple exposures with a single press of the trigger, and you can control the length of long exposures remotely, also.

i do a fair amount of portrait work and you can't beat this wireless for that. also i climb quite a bit and this is a great tool for taking photos without having to try and run and get in position for a shot within 10 seconds, witch can be dangerous on uneven terrain. recently i used it for taking aurora photos at -5 the wireless attached to camera sat outside for hours no problems i highly reccomend this product. only have had it for a couple weeks not sure on durability but looks sturdy enough

This is the third wireless shutter release that I have purchased in the past 18 months. This product appears at first to be a carbon copy of the first unit I purchased but this one is better because the on/off switch is designed to make it difficult to turn on inintentionally while being transported in my gadget bag. I have used the unit just a few times and it has worked perfectly. It has plenty of distance of operation.
I purchaed it with the Panasonic electrical cable but the cable that was furnished with it appears to be identical. I am an amature photographer and my need for the unit is to take family pictures or other scenes where A) I might want to be in the picture or B) where I need to be sure the camera doesn't move as in slow shutter speed. It is hande for setting the camera on a tripod in a corner of a room where there is a party and I can just randomly fire away.

Great with low light and macro shots. Use mostly with one of my large Bogen tripods, with mirror up, for perfect images without any camera shake. The remote has good working distance, allowing me to move around and really see the shot that I am getting. I love this little critter!

I bought this for my canon rebel 3ti. I'm new to the SLR cameras and thought this would be a fun addition to it. I was right not only is it fun but it is easy to use. My favorite feature is that the remote is wireless with a range of 320 feet. Also, I love that you can be anywhere around the camera and be able to release the shutter. For example, you don't need to be right in front of the camera to use it. You can be off the side or behind it. The cheaper version of the remote does not allow for that. I used this to take pictures of my boyfriend and I in Central Park. All I had to do was set up the camera and get in the shot. I didn't need to worry about a timer or asking someone else to take the photo. The remote is small enough to hide in your hand so its not visible in the image. It can also be used to reduce camera shake or to have hands free picture taking. Overall, this is a very fun remote and has a lot of potental to help with taking photos.

I take pictures as a hobby and I was looking for a way to take photographs of myself as I tend to be my only model, unless you count my dog, or in group photos, and long exposures. I have not had the product long but so far I am extremely satisfied. I was so excited when I received the box I instantly tried it out. It was extremely easy to follow the directions, set up, and use. I would highly recommend this product! I am very excited for the photo opportunities this will now allow me to have.

I was honestly surprised at how nicely this product was packaged, so I thought, "Maybe this is going to be a pretty good product!" It has worked flawlessly. I bought two,...one for me and one for my daughter. She loves hers too. I will be buying another one for my other photographer daughter. If you need a good little radio controlled remote at a really affordable price, buy this! It has 4 dip switches, so you have a really nice range of combinations for different frequencies. Great little remote!!

I used it the other night to take photos of the celestial triangle in the night sky. It worked and did a great job. I had another remote shutter release that I paid more for and it was junk. The wires pulled out and I paid more for that one. This one seems a whole lot sturdier and isn't made cheaply. I don't regret this purchase at all.

I don't think you can beat this product at this price. I had an infrared remote that was o.k. but of course I had to be standing in front of the camera to use it. With the FreeWave I can use it from anywhere in the area. I really like to use it with a tripod to prevent camera shake when using long lenses.

Works great and the price is Super Fantastic. I used this product for a long exposure in bulb mode to shoot intersecting busy streets. I also used it to take several shots of myself, one for a composition peice and another for an artsy close up.
