The Archos 70c eReader has a TFT-LCD 7" color touchscreen with 800 x 480 resolution. It runs an Android 2.1 Eclair operating system, which makes available the AppsLib. The 70c supports text, photo, video and audio files. The high-resolution screen is great for reading, watching movies and viewing photos. There's also a built-in speaker for sharing music, audiobooks and videos with friends.
Archos has integrated WiFi connectivity into the 70c eReader as well. You can surf the Web, read daily newspapers, e-mail, shop, check social networks and download books & magazines whenever and wherever you want. The Android AppsLib gives you access to thousands of downloadable ebooks, comics and fun applications including games and functional apps. All of this goes straight to your device; there's no need for a computer.
The 70c eReader has an internal memory capacity of 4GB, but an SD card slot facilitates memory expansion up to 32GB. Besides WiFi, it offers USB 2.0 connectivity and has an earphones slot for listening to audio privately. The 70c eReader also has a G-sensor, which rotates the 7" display conveniently between portrait and landscape views. It's an eReader plus so much more and is compatible with both PC and Mac OS.

Comments about Archos 70c eReader:
This is such a disappointing ereader. Deemed as a cheaper fix for color touchscreen it fits that to a tee. It's as slow as slow can get. Appslib is a joke. It's the only application that you are suppose to use to get apps, but when loading...its says the device is not compatabile to the ereader!
I'm returning it as soon as I get to the big city.
Not worth getting. save your money and spend it on a Kindle Fire.

Comments about Archos 70c eReader:
I wanted this e-reader as an easy device to let me read e-books and check e-mail/Facebook/etc. Very sporadic functionality of apps with no Android market access. The default reader cannot handle nook or kindle books, for a very limited selection of DRM free books. Touch screen is clunky and makes scrolling very difficult. On board app which purports to give access to Android Market does not work. I've already returned one unit for battery life of approximately 20 mins. before total shutdown. Waiting on second unit to see if battery life is better. Maybe this would be good for a hobby for someone who is very tech savvy and wants a project. Otherwise, I suggest spending the extra hundred dollars for a color Nook.

Comments about Archos 70c eReader:
A very good compromise between a low-price e-ink reader and a full-fledged android. Using white text on black background isn't hard on the eyes. The GUI is ugly, but videos come through very crisp. I especially like the hardware buttons you can use to page forward or back, in addition to screen touch.

Comments about Archos 70c eReader:
First of all, it's not a 4Gb but a 2.41Gb internal memory. Then, when you try to connect to Appslib to get some more applications, you get the message "Sorry, but your device is not compatible with Appslib" !! [...]The display is not so clear and I have some issues with the sensitivity of the touch screen : most of the time when I want to scroll with my finger it is taken as a click and the closest application from my finger is opened. Now the reader part : it does not display the file name of the pdf file as title. So none of the pdf files have title ! Not easy to choose the right one within the list at the first try ! The magnifier is only 200%, with a 7" screen is most of the time not enough. With the Aldiko application, you can download a lot of free e-books, that's the good part. The problem occurs when you try to read them, the 2 first lines of each page are hidden by the tool bar at the top of the screen. Not easy to follow the story !Video files reading is good, even the .mp4 files or whatever from iTune podcast, that it a good thing for me because I have a lot of video podcasts (especially about photoshop). Too bad you cannot synchronize with iTune but with Windows Media Player (which I do not like neither use.Bookmarks are available when reading video files.
