I purchased this replacement battery holder because changing batteries on the Vivitar 285 is time consuming and inconvenient during an event. Both this and the original holder are of a rather delicate plastic nature and fumbling hastily could inadvertently break something. The holder seems to be of equal quality and works as well as the original. I believe it was a wise and practical purchase at a good price.
