Great tripod for Trave, I maily use triop for my DSLR camera when I travel. On a windy day you might need a more heavy tripod though.

We use this as a light mobile alternative to a larger tripod. It's perfect for long walking around and taking pictures. We use it with a T3i rebel.

Comments about Manfrotto 293 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:
Seems very good value and well made. I selected it because, even though it is a three section leg tripod, it will fit into my carry-on bag with the head removed. Design seems very well thought out with details: a thread protector for the head mount; a wrench should the leg lock clamps ever need tightening.

Comments about Manfrotto 293 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:
This isn't the most expensive, neither the lightest product, however it is really sturdy and gives me the comfort that my camera will not fall due to a small wind. In fact, I truly believe that it will need a good strong wind to carry it down.
The legs open in two option: wide and wider, what will provide additional base support if you need.

Comments about Manfrotto 293 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:
The item in question is a sturdy no holes barred tripod. It is strong resilient and to the best of my knowledge is trustworthy with my very expensive photo equipment. Because without trust The photographer would never step away from the tripod to snap his pulitzer prize photo. So out of a five I give it a 4 only because it's a little heavier then the shoddy units you find in the big box stores. But when it comes to saving your camera I would take heavy over light anytime.

Comments about Manfrotto 293 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:
I use this tripod primarily for personal filming, and some professional. It's quite light, but heavy enough that it doesn't get knocked over in the wind. For the price, I would definitely recommend it. If it was more for professional purposes, I would buy one that unfolds flat to the ground and maybe something lighter.

We use these tripods for mounting our "off-camera" flashes to, attached to Pocket Wizard radio slaves. They work great. Light enough to lug around anywhere. Built very solid and strong enough to not worry about being blown over in the wind.
Great little tripod . . .

Comments about Manfrotto 293 3-Section Aluminum Tripod:
As an urban spelunker I'm very tough on equipment. This is my third tripod in a year. Wish I had bought this one the first time around. Snaps are quick and sure. Three sections make it faster to set up than four. The weight and carrying length are acceptable. Does it feel like a high-end tripod? No. On the other hand, if I drive off with it on the roof of my car (like I did once in Philly), will it cost a fortune to replace? No. And -- bottom line -- does it do what a tripod needs to do? Absolutely. Solid equipment. Really good price.
