Haven't tried out the 3D but I didn't buy it for that. So far, picture looks amazing with a PS3 attached to it, which transmits 1080p. Sharp picture just as expected. Music/videos/photos can be played off of a USB connection, but it has to be FAT memory (flash, not a hard disk).

I'm having this TV at my Great room, the image is sharp and the contrast has an amazing range, also I bought the Sony home theater to work in conjunction with the TV, I really recommend it is a whole new experience, The TV is complete, easy to set, user interface very friendly, Internet access works really well, I love the brushed steel stand.
My room is very bright, but the TV handles it really well.
So far I have none complains about it, great product!

Have only had this tv a week, but the image is amazing! Setup was a cinch. Have yet to go deeply into the web viewing, but gaming on this system is phenomenal. Sports and nature shows are equally special. Haven't tried the 3D yet, but have watched a blu ray flick and felt theaterish. Sound is adequate but a Tv this size needs surround. That's why I hope to win the 1k!

The picture on this TV is awesome! I jumped up from the older DLP TV to this and it was quite a jump.
This TV is feature rich as are the other TVs in this class.
I love the twin view feature which is what was on my older TV. I'm glad Sony continued with that feature.

I was honestly nervous buying this, I'd never physically seen it, and decided to trust the Sony brand. Couldn't be happier, connecting to my wireless network was a breeze, the only pain was entering my complicated security key, using and accessing the apps is easy as pie, changing channels is practically instantaneous and the tv turns on the instant you press the button. No waiting at all. I've seen The Transporter 100 times and happened to go to HBO right during the fight scene where he slicks himself with engine oil...WOW! My eyesight doesn't come CLOSE to as crystal clear as this image! Absolutely amazing! I tried out the 3D, I swear this girl's arm was 5 feet into my room! Glass flew into my room and a polar bear stuck his head a foot from my tv! Everything is a breeze, picture is incredible to say the least! Only con is the quality is so good that movies like Star Wars looks like a cartoon now, lol...I was watching a show randomly while messing with picture settings and the camera was following this girl, I literally felt like i was walking behind her. Incredible...CANT WAIT FOR HOCKEY SEASON!
Actually, the screen is high glare, need low lights, and the speakers are pretty bad! But TV is still amazing

The KDL55HX729 we purchased is great in every way except our model did not come with glasses, however B&H had a limited promotion that added them.
The HDMI control worked perfectly with our receiver, however it had to be modified in order to leave the receiver turned on when the TV is turned off.
The wireless internet was easy to set up and the TV updated itself in order to make it compatible with DirecTV.
The menu and features were easy to navigate, much like the Playstation and the 2D picture is fantastic. The sound automatically goes to home theatre when it is turned on and the 3D mode kicked in as soon as a 3D signal is detected.
All in all, for the price, one of the best values we found. A high quality picture, natural color (not harsh)and crystal clear from a very wide viewing angle in both 2D and 3D modes.
