I bought my wife the Vello battery grip for her t2i. The reviews on that product was solid enough for me to purchase it for her. When I saw the Vello Battery Grip for my 60D, it didn't have any reviews because it was a new product.
I decided to take a chance on it because of my wife's t2i battery grip was a good purchase. I'm happy I did. I saved about $100 over the Canon model and I have a product that works just as well.
The grip design matches well with my 60D layout and the additional buttons are solid. I provide video work for missionaries, so I haven't taken the battery pack into a foreign environment (i.e., ruggedness has not be tested) but so far I'm very happy with it. It looks good. It adds stability. It doesn't feel cheap. It provides much more battery life and makes my camera feel more complete. I would recommend the Vello for the 60D (and the t2i).

Comments about Vello BG-C6 Battery Grip for Canon EOS 60D:
ok at first i was concerned since it wasn't made by canon and it cost 100 less then the canon one, but when i got it i realized it was just as good, just way cheaper, its nice to have because you can use it with 1 or 2 canon batteries, or 6AA batteries, have the option to turn it off and on so you dont hit the shutter button on it, also if you have your camera set up on a rig you dont have to undo anything because you can just slide the battery tray out. good buy and bhphotovideo is legit!

Bought this grip about three weeks ago and immediately installed it on my Canon 60D. It looks and works exactly like Canon's battery grip that a friend has on his camera. Makes me wish I had bought this Vello Battery Grip when I purchased my 60D. I would never be without one now. With it holding two batteries, it is much better when shooting vidio. If the batteries do run down, not to worry as it also comes with a second holder that holds six AA batteries.

Comments about Vello BG-C6 Battery Grip for Canon EOS 60D:
The grip worked great so far with the LP-E6 battery caddy, that holds two LP-E6 batteries or with just one installed. I did have a problem with the AA battery caddy, and that it would not function at all right out of the box, B&H did a RMA and will ship me a new unit back when they receive mine. I like the way it feel on the camera (Canon 60D)the buttons and thumb wheel were comfortable to use and easy to install on the camera. When my exchange BG-C6 comes back, I will try and update this review.
PS - Thanks B&H for a no hassle RMA

Good built quality. Almost as good as the camera itself. Adds weight and stability to 60D. Camera feels much better with it. The only problem that i noticed is it looks like battery drains faster if you use just one, but i haven't verified thoroughly.

Comments about Vello BG-C6 Battery Grip for Canon EOS 60D:
I have owned both third-party and Canon battery grips in the past; this Vello one stacks up to the best of them. It's not made of plastic; there's actually a metal frame inside that the rubberized grip is built around.
The buttons and control wheel feel right. I can half-press the shutter button to pre-focus without trouble.
The grip also communicates well with the camera, so the 60D knows which battery is in which end of the grip, giving me precise information about battery life.
My only (minor) complaint is the twist locking tab at the end of the battery tray. It feels very flimsy and I could see how it would snap off for users accustomed to older and sturdier battery grips. Just be careful with that tab and you're fine.
Unlike other battery grips, this one has a slot to store the camera's battery compartment door, so you have it handy if you ever decide to remove the grip in the field.

Comments about Vello BG-C6 Battery Grip for Canon EOS 60D:
After reading many reviews on the Zeikos grip I was determined to not pay the full Canon price. Unfortunately Zeikos was discontinued but the Vello grip become available. There wasn't much information out there but I trusted the B&H would not be selling an inferior product. I was pleasantly surprised when the grip finally arrived (back-ordered). The box it was in was of high quality. I would have to say it was packed better than a Canon product. The grip feels solid, sturdy and fits the camera body perfectly. Its built is very good and all the buttons feel great. (I know some people have been complaining about the cheap feel of the Zeikos shutter button but I don't see any issues for concern here) The finish is identical to the Camera's finish and it feels fantastic in my "large" hands. It is heavy with the 2 batteries. Optional AA battery compartment is included. The Canon camera software recognizes the grip as BG-C6 and the menu shows how much power is left in each battery. For the money I paid for this grip this was a great addition to my camera. The only downside is that this grip stinks of new plastic and rubber so bad I can now smell my camera from 2 meters away. I am sure this is temporary.http://jakubsisak.500px.com

This is my first battery grip and I have to say... I like it! I can't compare to the Canon brand, or any other brand for that matter, so 4 stars from me as it does work. :)

Comments about Vello BG-C6 Battery Grip for Canon EOS 60D:
I purchased this in a kit with a pearstone LP-E6 and the Vello wireless shutter release system. The grip is great. Solid construction. Batteries fits nicely and the tray locks in well. The tray to use AA batteries is a nice addition but I can't imagine AAs lasting very long and doubt it will ever find use. The grip when holding the camera for portraits is very comfortable. This is my first battery grip and I'm loving it.

Great price and great quality! Only things that bother me are the shutter dial is a little cheap feeling (you'll know what I mean if you have it), it just doesn't feel the same as my 60D's dial. And the 1/4 20 screw just keeps twisting on mine, whereas the Canon stops and fits snug.
Good luck finding a better grip for even $40 more! The rubber is amazing, it fits perfectly! You name it, this grip works it!

This grip compares to the Canon version pretty well. I previously owned the Canon version, but decided that it cost too much. So far this grip has proven durable (I climb with my cameras). Both batteries register in camera and it displays which side each battery is in.
