The Microprism Focusing Screen for Leica S2 Camera from Leica is an accessory interchangeable focusing screen that greatly facilitates manual focus using the Leica S2 camera. This would be particularly helpful, for instance, in using the 120 mm macro lens, where manual focus is preferred over autofocus for more control and precision. The Microprism Screen has a more granular visual characteristic which make the focus "pop" more quickly and obviously than a standard focusing screen.

Comments about Microprism Focusing Screen for Leica S2 Camera:
I was initially unsure whether I should invest $400+ on this focusing screen for the S2. But after repeated frustrations by the inability of the S2 to accurately distinguish between two objects in close proximity, or to precisely focus on the right target, I decided to spend the money and get the focusing screen.
The lack of Live View in the S2 was another reason to finally get this screen.
Bottom line: it is a no brainer, this is a "must have" accessory. It makes a huge difference with this screen and it is designed extremely well.
The screen comes with a little box containing a soft brush to wipe away any dust on the screen, a custom tweezer to handle the screens and a well thought out little slot in the box to stand the removed screen temporarily, during the replacement operation.
Nicely done, but expensive. Leica should make this the standard focusing screen on the S cameras.
