The UFM-30FS-DA Frame Synchronizer Module w/ AES Audio Embedder/De-Embedder is a frame-sync module that features 8 channels of AES/EBU input or output (selectable) to go along with the single HD or SD-SDI input's embedded 16 channels of audio.
With its single BNC input and single BNC output for HD or SD-SDI, the UFM-30FS-DA is able to handle PAL, NTSC, and several flavors of HDTV: 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720/59.94p, and 720/50p. Optional additional standards are also available, as is a 3G-SDI input (sold separately). In the video realm it performs phase adjustment, functions as a proc amp, and also enables clipping and the addition of video delay. Frame Sync, Line Sync, and Input Sync modes are selectable.
The four BNCs for AES/EBU audio supply 8 channels of either input or output, depending on the user's selection. If input is selected, 16 channels can be re-embedded to the SDI video signal; these can be selected from among the 24 total audio channels (16 embedded with the video, 8 input via AES/EBU). If output is selected, 8 of the 16 de-embedded SDI audio channels are selected to be output as AES/EBU channels.
