Nikon's Coolpix S4100 Digital Camera (Plum) has everything you need in a compact camera, all beautifully contained in a stylish little pocketable package less than 1" thick, and weighing in at 4.7 oz (131 g). Start with a serious 14MP CCD sensor for great image quality, add a sharp 5x wide-angle Nikkor 26-130mm (equivalent in 35mm format) lens and a brilliant 3" LCD touch screen monitor with 460K-dot resolution--you can focus by just touching a point on the screen.
The S4100 isn't just another pretty face, either--it's got one-touch 720p HD video, 4-way VR image stabilization to banish blurry pictures forever, sensitivity up to 3200 ISO that lets you keep shooting even when it gets dark, Subject Tracking Autofocus that locks onto a moving subject to keep it in focus at all times, and a Macro mode that produces fantastic pictures by focusing as close as 4" from the lens.
The Smart Portrait System makes every person you photograph look good, by automatically capturing a smile, warning you when someone blinks in a picture, automatically correcting red-eye and smoothing out wrinkles and blemishes on faces. There are 20 scene modes, including Pet Portrait, Night Landscape, Sports, Party/Indoor, Sunset, and lots more. This is a camera that's easy to live with, and will always treat you right.

I received this camera as a gift and so far I love it. It's really easy to use the touch screen and has lots of different features. It's easy to connect to the computer and download the pictures. The pictures it takes are so clear and detailed, which is an improvement from my outdated Nikon I had that would leave spots on the pictures. I just had a baby, so this camera was needed. The only things that I have trouble with are moving from previous/next picture when viewing them on the camera and there is a small lag time from the time you take the picture until it appears for viewing immediately afterward. Otherwise, I am very happy with it.

I have a Nikon D40 which I love so I thought this would be a good point and shoot camera for me. The battery life is way too short (about 2 hours tops), there is too much lag time between shots, and it eats up the memory space quickly. I previously had a Cannon elph point and shoot and I loved it. If I could go back and do it over I'd choose Cannon for my small, point & shoot.

Hi quality, high capability camera small enough to take anywhere. Image stabilization for fewer bluury shots. Big, bright touch screen. Excellent Nikon quality product. It's early yet. I'm still learning how to use the features but I predict a long happy use for this camera.

I was looking for a slim point and shoot that had good capabilities so i could just carry it around and use it whenever.
This camera fits the bill. I especially like the touch screen and the wide angle lense.
Of course, B&H gives one the best pricing and service.

I jokingly said to people, when I bought the Coolpix S220 in plum color two years ago, that I had been waiting until science perfected a plum colored camera. The Coolpix S2100 is in the same shade of metallic purple. It features a touch screen and a larger viewing panel on the back. The telescopic lens is much more powerful and the number of megapixels is also more powerful. The directions are very easy to follow. With this one, I really want to learn how to do all the editing tricks that the Nikon program enables you to do. This is a lovely camera. Maybe some day, the U S Postal Dept. (if it survives) will honor it in a commemorative issue (like the present one) of beautifully designed objects.

I am a non-photographer i.e. not an expert at using cameras and quite happy getting 10 bad pictures for 2-3 good ones on a vacation. This served as a great camera. Even my friend who is a photo-journalist liked it very much. Only issue is if you don't have stable hands, the picture blurs.

Product is super slim, super easy to use and just all around a great value for the money. I have heard great thinks about Nikon and owned one a million years ago (remember 35mm film??) and I went looking for an easy to use, inexpensive digital camera that takes great pictures and ones that are easily downloadable. This serves the purchase and I would highly recommend to others!! go for it and enjoy!!
