Nikon's Coolpix S6100 Digital Camera (Violet) has what you're looking for in a camera, gloriously presented in a slick little package barely 1" thick, and weighing in at 6.2 oz (175 g). Love the color on this camera. I have not tried to do alot other than automatic focus but it is easy to use and the zoom is nice. The few pictures that I have taken have great color and clarity.

This is just going to a pocketable camera that I will carry. I have a couple of pro level DSLR's that are just too bulky to carry all the time. This camera, with all the amazing capabilities will be my everyday carry camera.
The price was excellent, the quality of the images are surprisingly good and the camera is easy to use.
The images are better than my cell phone by a lot. THe HD video is adequate for FB or Youtube.
In short, this camera fills a niche in my gear quite nicely.

I use the camera to take pictures of my kiddos 6 years and newborn. The only thing that I don't like is the delay when I press the button to take the picture, although that could be a setting I just haven't figured out how to disable. Other than that the pictures are clear, beautiful, and easy to upload onto my computer.

The color richness and image detail and quality not great. I compared to my old Lumix. My 10mp Lumix perform better, and picture quality is better.

The touch screen is not very sensitive. It requires a fairly strong tap with a fingernail or the strange stylus included with the camera, that no one would be carrying around when needed. It takes too many steps to get to the functions required on the aforementioned hard-to-use touch screen. I am a fairly small-handed female, and I don't know how someone with bigger hands would be able to handle this camera without feeling like it was always on the verge of being dropped. The flash is not very strong when taking pictures in room. I short, I wish I had stayed with Olympus and its "tough" line of digital cameras after my Sylus 1030w was stolen.

Bought this camera as a gift for my daughter who will be going off to college in the fall. It is a good quality camera with just enough bells and whistles but at a price that I don't have to worry too much about something happening to it. Touch screen is great - automatically rotates pictures to view which is cool.
