The Toshiba BDX5200 Blu-ray Disc Player offers support for 3D content displayed in stunning full HD 1080p resolution, along with built-in Wi-Fi capability that gives you access to online streaming and bonus content.
The world of 3D entertainment is yours with this player, since it offers support for the wraparound visuals found on many 3D Blu-ray discs. Images that leap off the screen to draw you into the action can be a reality in your own home theater, displayed in cinematic picture quality. If you have a 3D HDTV or home theater projector, 3D pass through cable and 3D glasses then you're ready to go.
Since this player also supports full HD 1080p/24fps resolution, it allows for a top-notch 2D viewing experience. Your DVDs will achieve higher picture quality as well, since it upconverts them to 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. Your new BDX5200 also employs Toshiba's Digital Cinema Progressive 3:2 pulldown to create smooth, saturated, seamless images.
To accompany your Blu-ray movies, the BDX5200 supports several Dolby and DTS audio formats that are encoded on many Blu-ray discs. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio both offer multi-channel lossless surround sound, and this player has built-in decoding for these formats to give you the full experience when you watch movies with soundtracks encoded in these formats. It allows for a more immersive, detailed sound field so you won't miss a whisper of your favorite movies.
However, a lot of what this player has to offer happens before you even pop in a disk. Since it has built-in Wi-Fi, you can pair it directly with your home internet connection to access loads of online content and extras (no adapter needed, it's ready to connect right out of the box). It supports streaming services like Netflix, CinemaNow, YouTube, VUDU, and Pandora internet radio to widen your options. Sor far so good...works as advertized. The built-in wifi works well without any issues. The loading and processing is a little sluggish but this player is definately worth the price especially considering you don't have to pay extra for wifi dongle. Easy to use. I may have paid more for a Panosonic had I known Avatar 3D is included with its 3d players...which is $$$ and unavailable to non-Panosonic owners until Feb 2012.

Was simple WiFi connection to my router.
Blu-ray picture quality was excellent, did have some sound sync problems to start with but was easily corrected by referring to user guide. Just didn't have the correct settings for the speaker system. Used the Netflix and You-tube extras but haven't used the others that came with the unit. On initial start-up received software update through the WiFi.

we just plugged in the HDMI cable and were ready to go.the built in wifi picked up our inter net with no problem, just a couple of steps from the online instructions and were watching net flicks anb hudu movies.either disks or streaming the picture and sound are so much better than our old DVD player. so far its awesome but we have only had it a few weeks.
