I purchased this case to enable me to cart around a 4x5 monorail view camera through the mean streets of NYC. It has exceeded my expectations. It is extremely rugged, very stable rolling aroud on uneven sidewalks. I use it as a container, a table, a seat, a platform. It is fairly heavy, so it requires strength to carry upstairs. No big surprise. The interior "pick & pluck foam worked as advertised. I'm very satisfied. It allows me to get bulky equipment anywhere.

We own probably like 100 different Pelican cases. Love them. Super durable, I've always been able to find the right size, and the pick and pluck foam is very convenient.

I use the 1650 in all my travels. It is a geat case for the price. I wish it were lighter. But I guess Pelican can't make it durable enough if it were constucted with a lesser type of material.

Wish the handle was a bit longer. I am not sure if it comes water-proof or not but it doesn't seem like. I think that's an add-on.

Otherwise this is an amazing box aside from the costly price :-) You get what you pay for though.

THIS IS A GREAT CASE TO STORE ALL YOUR EXPENSIVE GEAR. THE ONLT THING I WOULD SAY IS TO CARFULLY PLAN OUT BEFORE YOU CUT FOAM SHAPES.TRY AND KEEP AS MANY LARGE PIECES IF YOU NEED TO GLUE THEM BACK.

First off this thing is huge had room for all my gear and still some extra. This thing is great for anything you want to transport. The foam was not as easy as I had hoped for but I was trying to cut out small detailed slots for everything took awhile but well worth it. This thing is great well built and sturdy. The rollers make it so much easier to move around and all the handles make it simple to pick up from any angle.

The Pelican case that was purchased is an excellent product! I could not be more happy with it. The delivery was a lot faster then expected and my purchase arrived in great condition. Its got tuns of space and for its size it is extremely light. It is a great multiple purpose item. With 7 latches, waterproof seals and a rock solid body you'll never worry about your items getting harmed while inside this case. If your thinking about buying it, go with your gut. Its worth it.

it arrived the day after I ordered with free shipping. Service doesn't get any better than that! I needed to fly a lot of video gear cross country. Only had to pay SW airlines $50 for overweight bag. Saved $$ and hassles by not having to ship via FedEx. With the pick and pack foam I was easily able to fit everything very securely. The Pelican is waterproof and practically indestructible. No worries with everything snuggly secured in the foam. And I shipped 3 cameras, tripod abs monopod, battery chargers and batteries, cords, even a video projector and scan converter.

This case is by design a work horse. Everything you read about build quality is totally true. This was my first Pelican case and I've just ordered my second.

I took it on four trans atlantic flights so far and it looks brand new still.

The foam is very easy to configure.

You do need to be aware of how heavy the case is. It can take up nearly half of an economy baggage allowance itself. And its not cheap although over the years it should last I think its negligible for a professional with expensive equipment.

Even makes a pretty good seat in the airport.

This is a wonderful case, I use it to transport my Glidecam setup. The wheels and handle make it very easy to roll around, and the typical Pelican construction quality keeps me from worrying about damage to the contents. It was very easy to create spaces in the included foam. I would recommend this case to anyone needing to store and transport large valuable cameras or other equipment.

The only drawbacks are that is doesn't have as many layers of foam as some of the smaller cases, and it is not small enough to be a carry on, which is important to me because I love my Sony FS100 and must have in my hands alone!

The most protective case you can find. A little heavy but I knew that going into it. Great protection, waterproof so no worries of spilling on it. Durable and solid all around so the weight is easily justified.

We use it for all our Audio gear and it has protected it for the last 7 years! The only bad part is the Pluck and Pull padding, it falls apart after 3-4 years.

I bought this case for my Sony Nx5. I like having the added protection for the camera and all of my accessories for it. I have the camera in the middle. On the left side I have several batteries, the charger, remote, cables, wireless mic rcvr box, and a few other things. The right side is completely open right now. The case has wheels and a pull up handle which are very convenient. If I ever get an out of town shoot, I can just ship the case with everything inside and be ready to go.
