Logan Graphics 701-1 Straight Cutter Elite
The 701-1 Straight Cutter Elite from Logan Graphic Products is a pull type 90-degree blade holder that can be used with any suitable straight edge. It uses the Logan 270 blade. Pre-installed nylon guides and screws allow you to instantly add the Straight Cutter Elite onto the Logan Adapt-A-Rule and many of the Logan mat cutters. This blade holder features an ergonomic, pivot-action grip for easy cutting. The adjustable blade depth setting allows you to cut matboard, foamboard and similar materials of up to 1/4" / 6 mm in thickness.

I teach high school photography and bought this as a replacement. It's light years ahead of the previous model. The plunge feature is so crucial it's amazing it wasn't a part of the previous models. It's so safe now. The kids never get stuck by the blade tip plus they can start it anywhere on the mat board because of the plunge feature. This plunge feature has allowed us to conserve a ton of mat board. Don't think twice about getting this. It's a no-brainer.
