Iomega 2TB Prestige Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0
Compact and housed in a sturdy, stylish brushed-metal construction, the 2TB Prestige Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 is an affordable, secure, high-capacity storage solution from Iomega. Outfitted with an extremely fast USB 3.0 interface, the drive features data transfer speeds at up to 5 Gbps; however, if you don't have a USB 3.0 port, the drive is backwards compatible with a USB 2.0 port, using the included cable. You can also utilize one of Iomega's separately-sold USB 3.0 adapters. The drive is formatted in NTFS. As such, the drive is plug-and-play ready for your Windows desktop or laptop but it can be easily reformatted to work with your Mac computer.
To ensure that your data, photos, music, videos, or files are secure, the drive features Iomega's built-in Drop Shock technology, their built-in AES 256 bit encryption, and their downloadable protection software suite. With the encryption, you can be confident that your data will remain safe at home, in the office, or at school. In addition, the software suite allows you to easily back up your data online or on the drive. It also ensures that your online experience is safe and free from spyware or viruses. The built-in Drop Shock technology protects your drive if it's dropped from a height of up to three feet. All told, Iomega's put together a secure, affordable external hard drive for all your desktop storage needs.

I originally purchased the select 2tb but when it arrived the product was defective. Called Iomega, got them to send shipping label for a return, returned it within a week. Just got this one as a replacement since they did not have anymore of the original one I bought. So far AMAZING. Build is solid, SUPER QUIET and the look is slick.

While the 1.5TB drive works like a charm, this 2TB drive does not allow fast forward or chapter selection of films stored on it under Windows7. Today it crashed the system approx. 12 times. Besides, during the first copying onto this drive, some films were damaged. On the top of all, Iomega's customer care is inaccessible as well as their user community forum is locked even for registered members. Tomorrow I will return this useless item to the shop. Sorry
