A monopod is an ideal way to take the weight off a heavy camera / lens combo or simply steady your hand. Still photographers are able to shoot at lower shutter speeds with the camera supported and videographers can avoid eye-straining jitter, especially evident during long zooming. Best yet monopods pack easily and go anywhere, and often do double-duty as a walking stick on long hikes.

This is almost as light as a carbon fibre monopod. It is great to travel with when taking a tripod is not practical

Comments about Manfrotto 394 Photo-Movie Monopod (Silver):
I purchased this after getting and enjoying my Manfrotto 475 alum. tripod.
This looks the same build wise and is a high quality monopod.
I own another monopod that has more height, but i actually like this one better.
Looks great and functions and locks just like it should.
I highly recommend this monopod.

Used this with a Canon GL-2 video camera filming a wedding reception. Was able to keep steady for shots and open and close it with ease!

Comments about Manfrotto 394 Photo-Movie Monopod (Silver):
Very stable, even at full extension. I don't have a ball mount, but I'm thinking on getting on for it.
Very light weight and compact.
I know it's aluminum, but the material gets hot when hot and COLD when cold.
I would stay with it, since I don't use a Monopod to much, but for a person who's looking for a good monopod, I would recommend going an extra step up, even if it cost more. I will stay with Manfrotto, but would recommend to go Carbon fiber.

It's Manfrotto, so it's obviously quality. Very sturdy design, but the thing that surprises everyone is how lightweight it is. Love it!

Comments about Manfrotto 394 Photo-Movie Monopod (Silver):
I purchased this Monopod to use in very tight spaces where a tripod simply will not work. I recently acquired a 70-200mm lens which is quite heavy and holding that all day with my camera seemed like a daunting task. This monopod should do the trick quite nicely.
