Manfrotto 394 Photo-Movie Kit QR
The Manfrotto MK394-H Photo-Movie Kit QR is designed to maximize your shooting experience while minimizing weight and bother. The 3.6 lb four section tripod supports up 7.7 lb and rises to a height of 4.7’ with the column extended, while breaking down to only 20”. Leg angles can be individually set for uneven terrain and lengthened or shortened quickly via the flip lever leg locks. The integrated pan head has a front tilt range of -90° / +90° and a lateral tilt range of -90° / 0°. Panning range is 360°.
Finally, in keeping with the theme of quick and easy the MK394-H integrates a quick-release mount into the head to have you mounted and shooting in seconds.

I video my kids' school programs and performances. This is a sturdy tripod suitable for a compact HD video cam and also a DSLR with lens attached. This tripod has so many options in terms of how it can be set up and there is never that feeling like it will tip or be easily knocked over. I had originally ordered the tripod that is just for the DSLR, but I use the tripod more for video. I realized my mistake, called B&H just after I placed my order, the order was changed seamlessly to the item I really wanted and it was shipped and arrived just in time for my daughter's school performance. Thank you Manfrotto for a great product, thank you B&H for fabulous service, as always!

I bought this tripod to use with my astronomy binoculars. Had I done my home work I would have realized this tripod is way too short for this purpose. In fact I would have to say this tripod would be too short for most photography as well. I considered keeping this tripod to use with my camcorder but decided to return it because for the $ spent it just didn't seem sturdy enough. The build quality is ok but not like what I've experienced with other Manfrotto/Bogen tripods. Of course, this tripod is about 1/2 of what I spent on the other tripods. So, to sum it up, for casual videography or point and shoot cameras it would be just fine. For more serious videography, DSLRs or binoculars they just don't cut it.

Really great product ! For a cheap price, you have a solid tripod, easy to use and really compact. I was affraid that the maximum height was not enough but finally it's just great ! You only need to be careful when you remove the camera because it could fall easily.

For the money, this tripod is a no brainer. If your budget is limited (like mine) and you are thinking of getting a cheapie $20 tripod - don't! You will trash it in no time.
For just a few dollars more, this Manfrotto is 20x better. Solidly build, stable, well-machined, nice tilt and pan action. And it looks cool, and the Manfrotto name means quality. Carry bag is a nice bonus.

This is an amazing tripod if you are looking for one on a budget. Very smooth panning and tilting. Great for video and photography. I use a 60D with a rail kit and follow focus and I could still put a matte box on this tripod. 7.7 lbs doesn't seem like a lot of support but if you are shooting with a dslr it is ample. Oh and not to mention it is extremely light and it looks very sharp. Great product, shipped very fast and got it for 40 dollars cheaper then my local store.

If you want a lightweight tripod that extends to a reasonable height...this fulfills that need. It is probably however better suited for still pictures or non-moving video. The head has no drags for smooth pans or tilts and would be difficult to use in that situation. It would also be nice if it had a leveling "bubble" somewhere on the head as it moves in multiple directions and is difficult to tell when your level. However, it's almost a perfect fit the purpose I need...if you need to tilt and pan you might want something with a fluid head.
