Akai RPM3 3" Production Monitor Speakers with USB (Pair)
The RPM3 3" Production Monitor Speakers with USB (Pair) from Akai provide high-quality audio in a lightweight and compact design, ideal for use in home or project studios, mobile environments, and more. Each speaker has a 3" woofer and a tweeter to provide crisp, natural audio with a wide frequency response. The system has a 2x2 USB audio interface that allows you to connect the speakers to your computer for simultaneous recording and monitoring.
The rear panel of the right speaker offers stereo RCA, 1/4", and 3.5mm inputs for terrific versatility, allowing you to connect a CD player, MP3 player, line device, and much more. A bass boost switch allows you to increase bass response, while rear ports on each cabinet help to extend low frequency output and reduce compression. The front panel features a power/volume knob for convenient control, as well as a stereo 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring. The speakers are magnetically shielded for safe use near video monitors and other electronic devices.

These speakers are a great value if you want something other than tinny,poor quality speakers you find at big box stores. They run via usb which bypasses your internal soundcard, thus giving you clear,crackle free audio. Sound at even high levels is clear and bass is defined with good extension for a little 3inch woofer. Punchy and I am very pleased when listening to trance and hip hop music.
