The Sony DCR-SX85 SD Flash Memory PAL Camcorder (Silver) is an entry-level standard def cam with 16GB of internal flash memory, in addition to all the same bells and whistles as its little siblings from 2011. A 16GB internal memory means you have 12 hours of recording time in LP mode. In addition to this internal storage the camera also features memory card slots for Sony's proprietary Memory Stick media and for SD/SDHC memory cards.
At the heart of the SX85 there's a 1/8" CCD image sensor along with an imaging processor to keep things running smoothly. Helping these two core pieces do the work of video recording would be the Carl Zeiss lens, a 3.0" touch screen LCD, image stabilization, and 70x Extended zoom. Of course shooting controls, like Intelligent Auto, help out as well. These options take the guesswork out of recording by choosing the correct settings for a particular scene, by honing in all the faces in a shot, illuminating the area, and more.
When you're done shooting the included Picture Motion Browser software helps you to edit and organize your footage. PMB also gives you hand uploading your footage to social media sites for sharing with the world. And if you're more inclined to burn your memories to DVD, the software can even help you out with that.
