GoPro Battery BacPac
GoPro's Battery BacPac is a great dual-function device for improving the functionality of your 1080p HD HERO camera. Able to charge your spare batteries via a USB power source, it also works as a second power supply to give you nearly twice the amount of recording time. With the included backdoors the unit fits into the HD HERO or wrist housing, making it ideal for the kinds of extended shoots required for endurance motorsports and time-lapse photography.

Works as advertised! Very useful when you need longer battery life and can't change your battery in the middle of what you're doing. Essentially doubles battery life.
Just make sure to use an SDHC card with sufficient storage capacity, otherwise you're gonna run out of space on your SD card even though you still have plenty of battery life left.
Also very useful as an external charger to recharge your other batteries while you're using your camera.
Cons:
- makes your camera a little heavier and bulkier, which could be a problem in some very specific mounting situations (I haven't encountered any myself though)
- you can't use the LCD BacPac when using the Battery BacPac, which would be nice since the LCD BacPac uses your battery faster, but then again it would make it all even heavier and bulkier...

I was thinking about buying just the extra battery for my GoPro but this solves a number of issues.
You can charge the second battery while using your GoPro and then swap them out or you can just add additional power to the GoPro. This is great for doing Time Lapse photos when you need more than about 2 hours of run time.
Its too bad that the battery is not the exact same size as the LCD. When using both you need to switch rear doors. I prefer to frame my shot for a time lapse with the LCD then swap over to the battery pack.

If you have a Hero or Hero2 camera, this is a essential accesory to have, the camera is good but its battery life is short, so if you're a frecuent user you better have a spare battery ready.

There is not much to say about this wonderful accessory as its just an additional battery which allows you to capture footage for a longer period of time. One GoPro battery will last 2.5 hours so with the BacPac you get a total of 5 hours on a full charge. Pretty awesome stuff! The only drawback is that you cannot attach your LCD display along with the Battery BacPac but other then that its great!

I use my gopro hero HD for my car dash cam and wanted to be able to record a couple days worth of driving on a single charge. The backpack battery doubles your record time. Just remember it will also double your charge time too.

If you are going to invest in an extra battery anyway, you mine as well get the BacPac, since it comes with a battery. It's super easy to use, and allows you to charge an additional battery without tying up your camera. That way you can be off to playing with your camera instead of sitting around at home or base camp while your batteries charge.

I purchased the Battery BacPac as well as the LCD BacPac after my initial purchase of the GoPro. The Battery BacPac is ideal for those situations where you do not have external power at your disposal, such as the power outlet in your vehicle (with a USB adapter plug). Since most of my shooting thus far has been from the car I simply plug in to the power outlet. But there have been a couple of instances where that was not an option and the Battery BacPac saved the day. Plus it's a stand alone charger for the GoPros onboard battery.
