Contour's ConnectView Accessory Card enables ContourGPS users on the iOS platform to use the camera's mobile app, which turns your phone into a live viewfinder. Fitting inside the camera, the card enables Bluetooth functionality so that you can preview the camera's image, in real-time, on your mobile device and even change settings.
Note! This card is only necessary for customers using phones on the iOS platform, such as Apple's iPhone. Not needed for devices using Android.

The ConnectView Card is required to connect the ContourGPS to an iPhone running the Contour app. This card apparently provides encryption capabilities that Apple requires for a wireless connection. The install and pairing to the phone is easy. The app allows you to see a live view of what the camera sees. This is good for positioning the camera without the guesswork of what the video will actually look like later. The video is real-time but jerky and should only be used for an idea of the positioning of the camera for the best video shoot. You can also edit various settings without connecting the camera to Storyteller. The ability to change settings is why I purchased this unit. You can change through the various resolutions, turn the gps on and off, change the 1 & 2 button configurations. You cannot watch video playback as of the current version of the iPhone app. Battery life and used storage capacity is also shown. If you have an iPhone and need to be able to change resolutions, toggle gps power, or get an idea of the camera video positioning then this is [$] well spent.

Unfortunately, this card is required to make the Contour GPS's Bluetooth work with iPhone.
The slot that it fits into, next to the battery compartment is poorly designed. The card can slip in too far and lose connection. Be careful.
The camera initially did not have a MAC address (for Bluetooth), although they assured me it did. After a couple days emailing with tech support, they mailed me a file to drop into the root directory of the micro sd on the camera. Wah La. It works. On that note, tech support was great. They replied in as little as a few minutes, but never more than a day. Even on weekends. They didn't give up until I was up and running.

You can use this card to connect to the camera, change settings and watch live stream but not when filming or to watch what you have filmed. All in all a nice thing to have but not vital.

This card enables bluetooth connection between my cell phone and pov videocamera that i purchased recently. It works well, and is easy to set up connection between the 2 devices.

Comments about Contour ConnectView Card:
In my opinion, the ConnectView Card is a must have add-on to the Contour GPS camera. It beats the need to connect to a laptop/Contour StoryTeller just to reconfigure the camera's settings.
The most useful features I use it for are the following:
1 - Easy use of viewfinder when mounting the camera or when too bright to use the laser guide. Especially when you like to remount during the ride for different angle footage.
2 - On-the-go access to camera settings to change frame rates, still shots, GPS, & etc.
3 - Install the card & forget about it.
The Cons:
1 - Wish it allowed playback for recorded footage & pictures
2 - Wish it auto-connects when the bluetooth is turned on the camera. I have to also go to my iPhone's bluetooth settings to connect before the App discovers the camera.
3 - They should have just made bluetooth built-in to the camera & eliminated an extra slot to collect dirt.

Pretty much a "must have". With it, you can see what the camera sees, and configure it - all through your Android phone. I have my Contour GPS camera mounted in a race car and with this card, I no longer have to wonder what I'll get.

Comments about Contour ConnectView Card:
The ContourGPS is an amazing camera, but I have no idea why this bluetooth capability wouldn't be a standard feature. Still, adding this card will exponentially increase the utility and ease of use of this camera! The app is free, so if you have an iPhone and the ContourGPS without this card, you won't be disappointed with the addition!

Frame rate is low and choppy but then again it is only for 'viewfinder' applications.

This much anticipated item is a huge letdown. Will not connect to the camera. After much screwing around with firmware updates, rebooting, and all sorts of other "suggestions" I cannot get this to work. I give up on the whole Contour project. Moving to Go Pro.

Contour just keeps raising the bar, This card lets your iOS device work as a view screen, finally no more headless shots. Plugged in the card and the camera connected with no problem. This is well worth it.

Comments about Contour ConnectView Card:
Excellent product to connect iPhone/iPad/iPod to the Contour. The most valuable feature is the ability to change the camera's settings on the fly. The viewfinder function is great if you don't quite like the laser sight on the camera. The fact that it automatically grabs the GPS location from your iPhone really helps when you're traveling.
Sometimes it does take a bit of time to establish a link, or the link dies. It has already gotten better as Contour frequently uprates their firmware and software.

Thanks to Connect View Card You have the ability to see Your aiming point and if the rotating lens is at the right viewing angle.I've heard about some glitches but I didn't experience any of them -so far so good.[...].Works with iPhone 4, iPad and newest iPod iOS 4.3 and higher. Don't know if it works with iPhone 3G. You own Contour GPS -this is a must addition to already great camera.
