With its 5x optical zoom, built-in LED light, and 5-megapixel CMOS sensor that captures both video and stills, the DXG-5F0VR is the perfect companion for travel and family events. Easily view what you're shooting on the large 3" LCD touchscreen, and for a dash of fun you can enhance your images with such in-camera effects as Natural, Black & White, and Sepia.
Recording to either the 128MB internal memory or optional SD/SDHC memory cards, the camera easily sends footage to your TV or computer via the included HDMI and AV cables. And when you're ready to cut out the boring bits and burn what's left to a DVD--or upload to the Web--the included ArcSoft TotalMedia software supplies you with the finishing tools you'll need to get the job done.

Outdoors video is good, indoors does not work too well. I used it at a cousin´s wedding and the audio was blown up when dancing music was played.

The camera itself was easy to use and output a decent product, the problem arose when I tried to output the SD card information onto my Final Cut Pro editing software. After several days and calls to both Apple and DXG (whose solutions did not work), I finally found a converter on the internet that would recognize my files. It cost me another $35 to get it done, so my savings on the camera were no longer there.

This camcorder does everything as described. Some features left out in the description worth noting: it features a light on the front that can be used for pictures or video in low light situations and has a built-in 2 channel stereo microphone. Video quality is very good for the price range, but of course not up to the quality standards of a broadcast HD camera. Also, the optical zoom is not the best, but works well for short to mid range distances.

I think this camcorder offers great value for money. Picture quality is amazing and the sound is great too. It's very easy to use, I mostly use it outdoors and for family events. Battery life could be better though.
