Comments about Adesso AV-200 Video Capture Express Cable:
I was attracted to this product due to its seeming simplicity of connections and bundled Power Director software, which I've used before.
However, I found that every time I connect the cable to my PC, I have to repeat the physical connection multiple times, for the PC to recognize the hardware. Then, when I attempt to capture analog video (from an old camcorder), it often freezes the capture software and takes many attempts to actually start recording. Once it does record, it does so successfully. When I called the Adesso tech support, they were not familiar with the product and told me to check my PC's video and sound cards. I did so, downloaded updates, and still encountered the same problems.
Overall, the product ultimately does what it advertises, but is extremely temperamental and not highly recommended.
