I have an imac and macbook air. I also have several mini-dvds with home movies that I am unable to view or convert to mp4 files on my computer(s) because the imac has a superdrive that won't load them and of course the air has no dvd drive. This Samsung USB DVD drive connects easily to the imac with the two usbs and the computer instantly recognizes it. It plays mini-dvds which has allowed me to use the imac to convert them to mp4 files. It works effortlessly with the macbook air as well, although if you want use both usbs, you have to have an extender. It is not absolutely necessary to use both however. This gives me a much CHEAPER dvd drive/writer for my macbook air than the superdrive that apple sells. Finally, I am able to connect the player to my Samsung TV via the usb port. Very satisfied!

I bought this to play dvds, as my optical drive is broken, and at first I was very happy with it. However, after a few uses, the drive began ejecting my dvds as soon as I put them in. B&H has stopped carrying these, so I got a different replacement. Hopefully I will have better luck this time.

I bought this to play dvds, as my optical drive is broken, and at first I was very happy with it. However, after a few uses, the drive began ejecting my dvds as soon as I put them in. B&H has stopped carrying these, so I got a different replacement. Hopefully I will have better luck this time.

The drive on my computer quit working, so I bought this Samsung External DVD Writer from B&H. It's a great product, easy to set up, and works great. Plays and burns both DVD's and CD's, and I didn't have to install anything. It's compact, so I can take it with me on shoots, and move it from computer to computer.
