It does protect the screen and stays put. Once it's on it doesn't easily peel off so I assume it's semi-permanent

My early impression is that this LCD protector will suit my needs just fine. It was easy to apply and doesn't seem to diminish light from the LCD.

Easy to apply (pre-cut). No info about possible removal. Seems like once it's on .... it must stay on... forever. Not a fan of that.

It is a thin easy to install LCD protector.
It looks like it will last longer than my now third Giottos for my 5d Mk II.

Comments about Kenko LCD Monitor Protection Film for the Pan LX5 / Leica D-LUX 5:
Upgraded from Leica D-Lux 3 to D-Lux 5 and bought the monitor protection film. Hadn't used it on the D-Lux 3, and the screen picked up scratches over the years.
Used the new D-Lux 5 in France in May 2011 with the protection film on. Worked fine with no apparent degradation of viewscreen image. So far no scratches. Do notice the film is there when looking at the monitor from a distance, but not when I use it closer up as for composing a picture.
