First and foremost, the Panasonic TC-P65GT30 65" Class VIERA GT30 Series 1080p 3D Plasma TV is one whopping big TV. Whenever this set is on, get used to anyone else in the room drifting away from you in favor of the action on-screen. That being said, this is a TV that enhances your environment by simply being a beautiful object. It's when you fire it up, however, that it becomes obvious that the TC-P65GT30 is at the frontier of a flat panel breakthrough which turns traditional passive viewing into a completely interactive experience with a radically immersive element: 3D.
Panasonic uses Full HD Frame Sequential technology to create its 3D images. Images recorded in 1920 x 1080 pixels for both the right-eye and the left-eye alternately flash on the screen at the ultra-high rate of 120 frames per second. When you view the screen through optional active-shutter glasses that open and close each lens in sync with the alternating images, you see breathtaking full HD 3D pictures with stunning power and realism.
The 100,000 hour 1080p panel is capable of displaying 6,144 shades of gradation, the benefit of which is most obvious in pure rich blacks. Vivid is the key word in the TC-P65GT30 design. The 600Hz Subfield drive insures that each individual pixel remains lit for the minimum time possible to reduce after effects. This is especially important in sports and action sequences. And speaking of action, Game Mode tweaks the TC-P65GT30's settings, prioritizing fast response and super-sharp detail to meet the demands of the lightening-fast gaming world.
The TC-P65GT30's extensive connectivity has got your digital options covered with four HDMI connections, so you can switch from Xbox to Blu-ray player to TV as fast as you want to. Or use one of the three USB ports to enjoy music, videos and JPEG slide shows. If that's still not enough, the LAN port is your gateway to a world of online entertainment via VIERA Tools.

Comments about Panasonic TC-P65GT30 65" Class VIERA GT30 Series 1080p 3D Plasma TV:
This set is beautiful. Cinema and THX settings provide very workable picture settings in most ambient lighting situations, and the settings are pretty flexible allowing you to dial in the picture as needed. The set provides plenty of inputs and outputs and is quite beautiful as well with a very thin bezel. The only drawbacks are common across all plasma TVs: it generates a fair amount of heat, and the built in speakers are rather weak. A separate AV receiver or soundbar is highly recommended as bass is almost entirely nonexistent. The included WiFi connectivity is also great, and the Viera Connect software works beautifully -- having Netflix and Pandora available without a separate PS3 or BD player is a nice bonus.
