The Sharp BDHP25U Blu-ray Player (Black) is a 3D-ready, full HD 1080p multi-format disc player that can also stream from online services for an interactive entertainment experience.
This player offers support for Blu-ray 3D discs, so you can enjoy the realistic visuals of 3D content if you've got a 3D HDTV or home theater projector, 3D-ready HDMI cable and 3D glasses (all sold separately). More and more Blu-ray titles are being released in 3D, and with the BD-HP25U you're prepared to enjoy your favorite movies, games, and other 3D content. This player supports resolutions up to full HD 1080p so you can take advantage of the high definition visuals encoded on Blu-ray discs. It also supports playback at 24p (frames per second) so you can get a more cinematic experience.
Of course, this player offers more than just Blu-ray and DVD playback. Connect to your home network connection using the Sharp VR-WL25 wireless adapter to get access to internet streaming services like Netflix, VUDU and Pandora. It also supports BD Live 2.0 so you can download extras like games, chats and previews from the internet.
The BD-HP25U also has built-in audio processing for Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio. This allows for high quality lossless 7.1 channel digital surround sound that is closer to the original soundtrack, so you can get the full experience when you watch your favorite movies.
In addition to Blu-ray and DVDs, you can play your favorite CDs and multimedia files as well. Two USB ports accommodate digital cameras, camcorders and USB memory drives so you can also enjoy MP3 files and JPEG photos on your HDTV. This elegant disc player is Energy Star rated to help save the environment by using less energy. I have used this player for more than 2 months; it USUALLY works, but:
-it's very slow,
-it's extremely selective with the files it wants to play (making it difficult to play your own personal authored disks),
-lately it creates problems with the video, it only plays the audio from the movies. The only remedy that SOMETIMES works is to eject the disk and insert it back repeatedly.
I will return it.
