The Icy Dock MB882SP-1S-2B 2.5" to 3.5" SSD & SATA Hard Drive Converter is a handy, simple-to-use tool for converting your SATA 2.5" hard disk or solid state drive into a 3.5"-sized drive. The converter is lightweight and extremely simple to use. All you do is open the cover, properly insert your 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD, insert the converter into your computer's 3.5" bay, and connect to it with the appropriate cable. Because the converter is a standard size and utilizes universal mounting holes for most common PC casings, you can install it into a 3.5" bay for a desktop computer, workstation, or server case without needing screws or tools. As you install the converter, you can utilize the viewing window above the SATA connection to ensure that your drive is properly connected. Once your drive is connected and running, the built-in air-flow vents as well as the viewing window in the coverter work to dissipate heat within your computer. All told, the converter is great for using your 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD in a desktop, workstation, or server computer.

Comments about Icy Dock MB882SP-1S-2B 2.5" to 3.5" SSD & SATA Hard Drive Converter:
I just assembled a new computer and went with a motherboard that has a couple of SATA III ports.
In order to use all this motherboard ( Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 ) has to offer I bite the bullet and bought a couple of Crucial 128GB m4 Solid State Drives ( B&H # CRM4128SSD ) and set them in RAID 0 as a boot drive on Windows 7 64-bit.
My PC tower case is a Zalman GS1000 Titanium and it only has 3.5" hard disk bays.
In order to easily mount my Crucial SSDs on the Zalman tower case I bought a couple of this Icy Dock hard drive converters.
I was a little worry about the Icy Dock cases not beeing SATA III capable. But that was NOT the case. Using SATA III cables and housing the SSD drives inside the Icy Docks MB882SP-1S-2B gave me the full 6Gbps speed on both drives in my boot RAID 0 configuration.
Wow, the boot speed, the access to any file, the start and closing of any program or the search on huge Microsoft Outlook files is impressive and worth every single dollar I have paid.
I really recommend this adapters, they do the job and protect nicely the SSDs in your computer case.
Hope this helps.

Does what's supposed to. Allows me to swap SSD's from the tower drive caddy, like I used to with my 3.5" C: drives. handy for dual boots and C backups.
