Comments about Onkyo C-7030 CD Player:
I needed a single CD player to connect to my CD burner and amplifier. This Onkyo player is perfect. It was easy to set up and connect to my existing amp. The sound and overall quality are excellent. The only negative is that the audio cords provided are shorter than what I needed to reach the back of my amp. Luckily, what I already had with longer cords was compatible with the outlets on the back of the Onkyo player.

Comments about Onkyo C-7030 CD Player:
This unit lets me play the cds that I have recorded via iTunes which my previous player would not. This means I can listen again to my platters from the '60s & '70s.

Comments about Onkyo C-7030 CD Player:
After reading the online reviews and considering other cd players like the Marantz CD5004, I decided to get the Onkyo. The Onkyo was $150 cheaper, well-built and with a good DAC. I have to admit that at first, I was disappointed. From the outside the Onkyo definitely represents more than a [$] cd player, however it didn't sound that good to me through the analog outputs. Part of problem was me listening to a brand new cd "Adele 21" which later I found out it's not a very dynamic cd and it doesn't provide the best sound quality. So, I decided to listen to a different CD (Foreigner, Mr. Moonlight) and the sound improved but I wasn't 100% convinced yet. My first thoughts were, because I tried to save a few bucks now I will have to return it or buy an outboard DAC. The sound just wasn't as detailed as I expected. So I gave it another try via coaxial to my Yamaha RX-V767. Wow! The sound improved dramatically. I'm not sure if my receiver has better DACs than the Wolfson 8718 but the details in the music, the stereo imaging, and bass, all improved considerably. As a transport the 7030 CD player provides superb audio. It's definitely the best sounding cd player I have ever owned. From Hate to Love. I love the sound of the Onkyo!

Comments about Onkyo C-7030 CD Player:
I was very surprised at the quality of sound that was reproduced from my Onkyo C-7030 CD Player. I have it connected to an Onkyo amp (100 watts per/channel). The amp is from 1970. The speakers are from the late 1980's. I was able to hear sounds that I was not aware from my new CD player. I purchased this item myself and am very happy. Don't let the price of the CD Player fool you. The player produces a very high quality of sound that really shocked me.

Comments about Onkyo C-7030 CD Player:
I bought the Onkyo C-7030 to replace a hand-me-down DVD/CD player and, as you might expect, the difference is huge. It is connected to a Yamaha RX-596 receiver with a CD Direct AMP switch that reproduces the CD player's pure sound. This Onkyo player is solidly built; has a classy look and, most importantly, produces great sound! The remote seems easy enough to use for the basic functions I've used thus far. I considered more expensive units but I'm pleased with the C-7030 and believe it's a very good value.

Plays many music formats. CD tray movement is usually an indication of quality when ejecting/loading a disc. This tray is solid. Controls are logical and easy to use. Setup is straightforward. Most importantly, the sound is flawless.
