LG Electronics BD670 3D Blu-ray Disc Player
The LG BD670 3D Blu-ray Disc Player is a full-featured entertainer that supports Blu-ray 3D disk playback in full HD 1080p as well as home networking and online connectivity.
The BD670 is capable of delivering the realistic, wraparound visuals on Blu-ray 3D disks when paired with a 3D HDTV or home theater projector, 3D-ready cable and 3D glasses (optional accessories). Blu-ray disks are also capable of producing the highest resolution available, 1080p (1,080 lines of vertical resolution) progressively scanned. With this player you can take advantage of the detailed, clear imaging of Blu-ray when paired with an HDTV.
This player has onboard Wi-Fi readiness, so you can connect to your home internet connection. Once you're online, you can take advantage of LG SmartTV which includes customizable apps and streaming from services like Netflix and CinemaNow. This also allows you to take advantage of BD Live 2.0 to download extras from the internet like interactive games, chats and previews. Support for BONUSVIEW allows for picture-in-picture functionality.
This Blu-ray player is Wi-Fi Direct certified, so it can connect to other Wi-Fi devices directly without the use of a hotspot. It is also DLNA certified for easy file sharing between PCs or other devices on your network.
It can decode several advanced Dolby and DTS audio formats for an immersive surround sound experience when you're watching your favorite movies. With support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio, this player can decode 7.1 channels of lossless audio to deliver a wider sound field that is closer to the master recording.
That's not all. If you have a compatible SmartPhone, you can download the LG Remote App to command all of this entertainment from your handheld multimedia phone. So that means you can put a movie on, adjust volume control or even search through online content in between taking phone calls and texting.
A front panel USB port makes it easy to pop in a USB flash drive to display JPEG files or play MP3 music files, and the music and video ID service lets you access additional information for an enhanced listening experience. I too have fallen victim to the January OTA update, now Netflix is unusable, I've spent many hours on the phone with tech support to no avail. Even though they know they have a problem with the latest update they want you to pay $69 and shipping to get the problem they created repaired. I even downloaded the previous update and installed it, unfortuantly, as soon as you select Netflix it only gives you an "update app" or "cancel app" option, updating causes your unit to d/l the faulty ".e" version and you are back to no Netflix. We only use it for Blu-Rays and Netflix so it is a pain.

I bought this hoping to use it to stream Netflix. I have had nothing but problems trying to watch Netflix in the 6 weeks that have elapsed since buying it. The tech people have all admitted that there are problems with this unit's ability to stream Netflix, especially if you were unfortunate enough to have downloaded the "recommended"update to the software. I have spent hours on the phones with the techs, who are very nice but unable to support a product that can't deliver this particular feature that it promises. If you are buying this to watch Netflix, you might as well burn the money and save yourself the time and disappointment of trying to make this thing work. This is my first LG product, and hopefully my last.

Wanting a gift for my parents for Christmas, I bought this model after thoroughly researching the best players currently on the market.
I needed a good quality player at a good price and most importantly that it worked with the original NTFS format on most portable hardrives.
This player works great. It has excellent audio and video, and the apps are a great addition. The only draw back would be that this model does not have a web browser app, but with occasional software updates I hope that they add it in the future.
After I tested the player out for my parents I ordered a second one for myself.

Bought this one to replace the BD550 I purchased a year ago. In process now of obtaining an RMA# so I can return....still waiting. Despite good internet connection, unit will not log into Netflix or download software updates. After reading product reviews & features, thoroughly disappointed in it's performance.

Tried the Samsung and Sony and took them both back for lack of performance. Bought the LG DB670 as sort of the last resort in looking for a 3D players. Very happy with load time, excellent video and audio. Make sure you check the setting on the player to get the best of both.
I am a bit of a Videophile and know a good PQ when I see it. Had been using a Sony ES2000 which cost $1500. This LG has a better picture.
When I first got the players I put in the regular DVD 'Fifth Element' and was blown away with the upconvert PQ.
For the price its a steal. LG tends to offer more than Samgung and Sony in an effort to take a lead in the market.
