The AE2500 Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter from Linksys employs wireless-N technology for top performance and range and offers wireless transfer speeds of up to 300 megabits per second. It also features superior range with multiple (MIMO) antennas. "N" wireless networking allows for transfer rates that are many times faster than that of 802.11a/g devices, making it an ideal solution for performance intensive networks where slower speeds are insufficient. Additionally, the device can operate on either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band, allowing you to use this device in environments where wireless traffic is congested.

Comments about Linksys AE2500 Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter:
I was surprised to see the convenient slim body with rounded corners and relatively small size. I am comparing to the Linksys AE1000 and Asus USB-N53 which I also own.
I didn't put it through any distance nor speed test, but it performed well in normal use.
I did not use the CDROM nor setup software. I just downloaded the Driver from Linksys' website and it worked well on my WinXP machine. It was easy to switch between the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
I was using it in my office to access big files on our office file-server, which means that I was using it at much higher speed than most users who only use it to connect to the Internet (no specific measurements).

Bought a new desktop computer without wireless.[...] Went to B&H and they recommended the Cisco and I got it the next day. I am very please and happy and am still arguing with Dell about a refund!

I've just installed it on a new laptop, and the sync with Cisco router was a breeze. No problems that I have encountered so far.
