With HD 1080p resolution and SimpLink (HDMI CEC), the 42LK450 42" LCD HDTV from LG Electronics lets you tap into the virtual limitless possibilities of accessing movies, shows and info direct from the Internet. The 42LK450 yields images that truly show off any source material, be it Blu-ray movies, broadcast and cable TV, or video games. LG's proprietary technologies also ensure that whatever you're watching comes across in rich, detailed color. The 42LK450 TV's high contrast ratio and low response time makes the unit capable of being the centerpiece in any home entertainment system.
The TV comes with a full complement of inputs for components which you may have or may get in the future. The 42LK450 includes three HDMI and two component inputs for high-definition devices, as well as composite for legacy devices and a PC input which lets you use the set as a computer monitor. The USB input allows you to display photo slideshows and share MP3 audio files with your friends. In addition, the built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners receive virtually all available local digital and analog programs.

This hdtv has excellent picture quality. The assembly of the stand was easy. The user's manual is clearer than most, and the set-up was uncomplicated. There is some minor discoloration at several sites on the frame near the screen, possibly related to the protective plastic peel-off.

I'm really happy with this TV. We use it with an HD antenna, the xbox, and my laptop for internet movie subscriptions. It has easily accessible inputs, the sound quality is great, and the picture quality awesome. I was a little disappointed that there was no S-video connection because that's why I normally used for my laptop connection, but I just bought a new cable and solved the problem. We don't have any problems with glare.When I first got the TV I was a little concerned, because to start with I was missing a screw for the base and the manual has assembly instructions for all sorts of models so it was a little confusing at first to figure out if I was missing something or if there was just an extra screw hole. Turns out I was missing a screw.[...] The only thing that's slightly annoying, which I'm sure I can probably change, but haven't gotten around to it yet, is that after a little while the light dims, I guess that's the energy saving mode. It's not a problem most of the time, but sometimes with darker and older media it's hard to see the details. [...]
