    Great "skin" for the camera

I picked up a Zing Pro SLR camera cover to wrap around my Pentax K20D (B&H PEK20D) with the D-BG2 battery grip (PEDBG2) and SMCP-DA 18-250mm (PE1825035E) zoom attached...Read complete review

I picked up a Zing Pro SLR camera cover to wrap around my Pentax K20D (B&H PEK20D) with the D-BG2 battery grip (PEDBG2) and SMCP-DA 18-250mm (PE1825035E) zoom attached. I wanted a quick-on/quick-off skin to cover all of them when all I want is the camera for an outing, and the weather isn't inclement, or when I need to toss the camera into a backpack or case (that won't be checked), and I want to make sure that nothing gets bumped or scratched.

This cover does exactly what I wanted. It protects the camera from sharp jolts (though it obviously wouldn't protect from a significant drop), and is easy to put on and take off.

It took me several tries to work out a routine for fitting it on the camera, but basically it works like a wetsuit - neoprene is very stretchy, and you stretch it pretty tight to get it on the K20D with all the bells and whistles.

It's a bit 'flabby' with the Pentax 18-55mm "stock kit" lens (B&H PE185535DA), but it fits the body, battery grip and 18-250mm zoom like it was made for them.

My only complaints: 1) it smells VERY strongly of neoprene, and since it won't be going in the water with me, that smell isn't likely to go away quickly for a while; and 2) you can have any color you want, as long as it's black (I would have preferred blue -- most of my kit is black, and it's becoming a dark-and-moody theme I'd like to break out of).

It also comes with a little clippy-thing that I guess is supposed to secure it to your camera strap, but I immediately removed it and tossed it into a pile of "other things I never use," for storage until I can no longer identify it and throw it away.

    Doesn't fit D300

I've used Zing covers for a long time and they're a great product. This supposedly fits a pro SLR, like a D300 with battery pack, and a 4" lens. It doesn't.

Comments about Zing Designs Pro SLR Camera Cover:

The PRO SLR Camera Cover by Zing fits a Canon 5D Mark 2 with a lens that is 3.25" or shorter and up to about 2.5" in diameter. Thus, for most zooms, the Zing isn't going to fit on the camera + lens. But it works with 50mm and 35mm prime lenses installed. It provides good padding when placed loose into a backpack without compartment separators and protects from light rain, dirt and dust when I carry the camera around my neck. At first, it's a bit hard to stretch onto the camera/lens, but with a week of use, it loosens up just enough. Some report that it's complicated to put the Zing onto the camera, but after a while, you get the hang of it, as long as you're not using a lens larger than the dimensions above. It still takes a little effort to put the Zing on the camera, since the lens on the camera is slightly off center of the body, while the Zing lens pouch is centered. And with a 3.25" long lens, it's a tad tight, but much easier with a lens shorter than that. The Zing has a strap that clips (with some difficulty as the clip is overly stiff) onto the camera strap, so you can just let the Zing go free when you remove it from the camera without it dropping into the Grand Canyon.

I haven't found few if any other cases online that will fit and work on the 5D Mkii or similarly sized Pro DSLRs. Highly recommended if you need a case. Of course, it's not water proof; but no case like this is. Unlike some reviewers, I was not in any way annoyed by the neoprene smell of the material; it's there, but not enough to smell up your hands, camera or camera bag/pack.

very happy with this cover, fits the 7D like a glove -- exactly what i wanted. i had a 10D and had bought the large size and it was great for travel and shove into my backpack. when i upgraded to a 7D i wanted something similar to what i had for my 10D, so glad they make the pro size. would totally recommend this to friends who travel ... fits with 28 - 135mm kit lens.

I store my camera gear in a large Billingham bag. To gain more room I got rid of the dividers. I needed protection for two DSLRs with lenses attached. The Pro SLR Cover by Zing was just what I needed to protect my cameras. Now I can store the rest of my lenses, in their covers, between the two cameras in the bag and not worry about damage.

This is a great cover for your DSLR with a medium telephoto lens attached. I use it for my canon 50d and 28-135mm lens. It's great if you want to just throw your camera in a regular bag rather than a camera bag. It protects well. It is a little tight when you first use it but does stretch a little and fits like a glove after about a week. I have had this cover for a month and love it.

My Canon t2i with the kit lens fits perfectly in the case, it probably wouldn't fit a bigger lens. This cover is a great compromise between protecting the camera and not having to carry a big case. Fits in my purse or tote when I take the camera out.

I own a Nikon D90 with kit len (18-105mm) and MB-D80 battery grip and wanted a cover for it when I just wanted to walk out of the house and not take my camera case with me. I wasn't 100% sure this Zing model would fit over the zoom lens. It fits perfectly...almost as if it were made for this set-up. Although, if I owned any longer of zoom or lens I would have had to set-up to the next pro mode that fits longer zooms. It includes a clip to attach to one's camera strap when taking off. I checked to see if this gets in the way when shooting and it doesn't as the strap is long enough to keep some distance from the camera.

This is a great easy to use camera cover for when you don't want to bring your whole camera bag and all your gear. It gives just the right amount of protection against light bumps and scratches allowing you to easily throw your camera in a tote or other day bag. The only thing that I don't like is that there are some open spaces in the cover that will allow dust/dirt to enter the case. Otherwise I am very happy with this purchase. It suits my needs and fits my Pentax K20D with lens attached.

                                Great "skin" for the camera

Comments about Zing Designs Pro SLR Camera Cover:
