Comments about LG Electronics 50PV450 50" 1080p Plasma TV:
As being the lowest priced 1080 50" plasma TV available, I had my doubts about the quality, but those were soon dismissed upon usage. The swivel stand is a bonus in my weirdly shaped apartment, the 3 HDMI inputs are great for keeping my appliances plugged in and being able to hook up my laptop without unplugging anything, and the optical audio output (slight minus for being the only kind of audio out, but it worked out for me) makes for a great gaming/viewing setup. Mac users might bemoan the lack of a DVI input, but overall a great set for the price.

Comments about LG Electronics 50PV450 50" 1080p Plasma TV:
As with all plasma tv's you get some glare in brightly lit rooms - in darkened room the picture is superb, otherwise 5 stars. I feel this product hits the sweet spot considering screen size vs price and brand quality.

Comments about LG Electronics 50PV450 50" 1080p Plasma TV:
This is my 1st plasma after being with LCD for several years. I was at 1st a little anti plasma because of all the noise about screen burn in, glare, short lifespans etc., but as I was searching for a new t.v. specifically for playing video games & the occasional movie, I kept reading on forums how plasmas have higher refresh rates, displays blacks better & how the picture is always the same no matter what angle you are viewing from, kind of like a CRT monitor.Mostly gamers on the forums recommended plasma over LCD because of all the above & the fact that plasmas are generally cheaper.I chose the LG 50PV450 (6/22/11) because it has everything I wanted in a new t.v.; big screen, nice picture, good amount of jacks, not pricey. I was able to set this thing up myself stand and all.The default picture settings are definitely to be tweaked, but that's not a problem. You can select from several settings or set your own in 2 of your own personally tweaked 'expert' picture settings allotments. The speakers are decent but I muted those (there is a setting for that) because I have a home theater sound system connected via the optical port. You can label the inputs for easy access to all your connected equipment. After adjusting the settings, which took about 20 minutes, I was ready to get my game on. Games are bright and just refreshingly crisp. It's like I'm playing a different game and seeing things I didn't see before. Response time is flawless.I was expecting some generic remote, but this thing is well made & just well designed. Has a backlight. There is glare, but not to the point of OMG I can't see that because of the glare. Nothing some closed blinds or shades can't fix.All though I'm still tempted to mount it, the swivel stand is awesome.[...]I'm happy with my purchase.
