Comments about Aluratek 12" Digital Photo Frame (Black):
Tried to use this for a video installation. The alleged 800x600 native resolution appears to be non-square pixel, which is nowhere stated in the docs which are sparse, incomplete and misleading. It seems like they were written for another product. I own another smaller Aluratek picture frame which works much better, actually handles mp4 which this does not in spite of what it says. This one only seems to play.h264 in an avi wrapper but distorts the pixel aspect ratio. Just not worth the headaches. Even their best products have a very poor and inconsistent user interface. The smaller one I have displays a good quality video image but you have to really work because the user interface us so bad. Example: you go into a new menu level and left right functions are now operated by up/down keys. Really annoying. They they enough buttons but the software design is poor.

Comments about Aluratek 12" Digital Photo Frame (Black):
This product is not up to par. The USB cable was even hard to use. I liked the matte surface and the 4 by 3 dimensions, but the housing and interface was not up to par.

Comments about Aluratek 12" Digital Photo Frame (Black):
I loaded the best of all my photos, about 400, onto a 4 gig thumb drive. Just turn the unit on and it starts to play a slide show. There is a learning curve for the menu options, however. The included manual is very basic. And the unit does not always respond to the remote, and takes several clicks to operate. You can navigate through subdirectories to locate what you want. Undocumented feature: hit zoom, then enter, to pause a slide show. You need to view the screen at a 90 degree angle for the best results. An adjustable support would help with this. My unit came with one bad pixel at the top left of the screen, otherwise, no problems.
