The String Studio VS-1 from Applied Acoustics Systems is a string modeling synthesize that delivers a variety of string based instruments, either as a stand-alone application or as a plug-in available in multiple formats. It replaces the traditional oscillator, filter and envelope functions that are found in most synthesizers with real-life string instrument components.
At the core of the software lies a string model, interacting with picks, bows, hammers, fingers, frets, dampers and soundboards. Instead of relying on samples and wavetables, String Studio generates sound on the fly, using an accurate model of the components and interactions involved in string instruments. It then responds dynamically depending on the performer's actions.
The software delivers stunning guitars, basses, harps, clavinets, bowed instruments and percussion, as well as rich and animated tones that blend the warmth, naturalness and density of real-life instruments with unique and innovative timbres from yet unheard of sources.
