The MultiSync PA301W-BK 30" Widescreen Professional Graphics LCD Computer Display from NEC is a computer monitor that is suitable for use in color-critical applications. The large display features a native resolution of 2560 x 1600, allowing you to work with high-resolution graphics and video with ease. The display features two Dual-Link DVI-D and two DisplayPort inputs.
The display boasts a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 350cd/m² brightness rating, a 7ms response time, and 178°/178° viewing angles. It can reproduce 98.2% of the Adobe RGB color space at any given time, making it an ideal display for use with industry-standard Adobe creative software.

Best monitor I've ever used. Fantastic color reproduction. Worth every penny for serious work (or play). All features work as advertised.
I suggest picking up the SpectraView II Color Calibration System separately, or getting the bundle. Saves a lot of time in getting the monitor calibrated correctly.

The wide color gamut (almost all of Adobe RGB) is a great plus in getting my prints to come out right the first time, and the NEC SpectraView calibration system works flawlessly. I use this monitor to produce photographs and for that, it's fantastic. I waited for several months for the PA-301W-BK SV to come available here at B&H but I couldn't wait any longer as my other monitor was dying so I ordered the non SV model. I had to purchase the colorimeter and software separate which drove the price of this purchase very high. I did a lot of hunting and found no difference in these two models except one comes with the Spectraview software and colorimeter (which was significantly more to add to the non SV model.) So order the SV model, not this one. Only three stars because of the huge price difference to add the colorimeter and software.
Operation:
Included instructions on this monitor is vague at best. The manual on disc or on line is better, but finding hookup instructions can be a challenge. The USB ports are plentiful, five total (two up, three down), though a USB 3.0 port would have been nice. This model has two DVI-D ports which is notable in that it will not accept the DVI-I cable. So be sure you have the right graphics card and cable. Make sure your cable is rated for the high def input of this monitor, 2560X1600. (Many cables are not rated this high.)If you are using two computers with standard stereo speakers, they will not switch with the front panel selection such as with a KVM switch.
Bottom line, mega adjustments and a calibration routine to customize, the color is great and the output to the printer matches the display. This is the main reason I bought this, and it does what it's supposed to. For that I would give it 5 stars. But order the SV, not this one.
