Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate 15
The Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate 15, with intuitive features, quick performance, and massive content, enables you to edit scenes and make HD movies. It includes more than 1000 additional premium transitions and effects (Hollywood FX Volumes 1–3), and 54 DVD menu templates, 81 titles, and 79 sound effects with various themes (Premium Pack Volume 2).
Featuring an Archive/Restore tool, the Studio HD Ultimate 15 allows project data backup to a single location for instant restoration. It supports DivX Plus HD (.mkv), and QuickTime HD for exporting your movies into SD and HD formats. The software also enables you to share your projects on YouTube, and import/export AVCHD format files. Faster performance with current generation Intel processors is enabled by Intel Media SDK integration.
In addition to quick import of photos and videos, the Studio HD Ultimate 15 provides automatic creation of music to match the length of the movie and supports Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. It offers real time preview via the player window or full-screen mode, and includes more than 2000 2D/3D effects and transitions and other content such as professional Red Giant plug-ins. The software allows you to burn to DVD or Blu-ray discs, and export to popular formats.

I own every major editor but use Pinnacle for down and dirty quick edits. Yes, version 11 was good, but 12 was better, with only the replacement of SmartSound with the EXTREMELY amatuerish Scorefitter being the worst thing about 12.
Version 15 expands on 12 and has a plug-in for SmartSound. In fact Version 15 is better than AVID Studio except for extra tracks, but if you are buying Pinnacle, you don't know what extra tracks can do for you anyway.
Pinnacle Studio 15 is a good intro-editor that can handle most video formats and can produce some very nice movies.

Studio 11 was easier to work with and had bells & whistles. Now you have to add additional programs to get the same result you had previously.
