The RX-V371 5 Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black) is a high-powered A/V receiver rated at 100 watts per channel with several advanced features and support for high fidelity audio and video.
This receiver offers a slew of connections for all your gear, including four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output. It employs Burr Brown D/A Converters for all channels and offers high dynamic power as well as low-impedance drive capability.
If you have 3D Blu-ray discs or games as well as a 3D Blu-ray player, 3D HDTV or home theater projector, and 3D pass-through cable you can experience the wonder of cinema quality 3D in your home theater. However, if you don't, this receiver can also offer support for full HD 1080p material with a 24 Hz refresh rate, so you can watch your 2D movies at 24 frames per second (fps) for a true cinema quality experience. It also supports Deep Color (30/36-bit), xv Color, and an Audio Return Channel (ARC).
The RX-V371BL has built-in decoding for several Dolby and DTS audio formats as well as 17 Yamaha DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) so you can achieve a detailed, immersive sound field. It also has nine (9) selectable subwoofer crossover frequencies and a Compressed Music Enhancer for your portable MP3 and WMA files. - 4 HDMI Inputs and 1 HDMI Output With 3D and ARC
- This receiver offers an array of connectivity options including four assignable HDMI inputs and one HDMI output which support 3D video and Audio Return Channel (ARC). If you've got 3D programming along with a 3D-capable HDTV or home theater projector and 3D glasses, you can take advantage of 3D Blu-ray discs and 3D gaming. Enjoy realistic wraparound visuals when you've got your collection of accessories to use along with your new RX-V371BL. ARC allows your TV to send audio data "upstream" to the receiver or surround audio controller, without the need for a separate audio connection.
- Cinematic Picture Quality
- This receiver also supports a 24 Hz refresh rate so you can see movies at 24 frames per second (fps) for a more cinematic experience. This function works along with a TV that also supports this refresh rate.
- Supports Deep Color and xv Color
- Your V371BL is capable of reproducing 30 and 36-bit Deep Color and xv Color for exceptionally rich, vibrant colors, with smooth, detailed gradation. It supports pass through of 1 billion of colors so there's no color banding that can occur even with HD programming.
- Dolby and DTS Sound Processors
- Enjoy a detailed, immersive sound field with the RX-V371BL. It can decode the latest audio formats found on Blu-ray discs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio with 5.1 channels of surround sound or two-channel stereo audio for the full experience when you watch your favorite movies.
- Cinema DSP Digital
- Yamaha CINEMA DSP creates independent sound fields that allow you to become immersed in a surround sound experience. These sound fields create dialogue, music and effects in precise places for realistic, clear sound. The decoding circuitry performs Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS Digital Sound, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio decoding for high resolution, detailed surround sound.
- SILENT CINEMA and Virtual CINEMA DSP
- SILENT CINEMA was designed to let you enjoy surround sound through headphones. It is a variation of CINEMA DSP technology that Yamaha developed to let you listen in private to movies and other multi-channel sources. Virtual CINEMA DSP lets you enjoy the effects of CINEMA DSP surround sound without using surround speakers.
- SCENE for Operational Ease
- This receiver has five SCENE buttons that make it easy to operate. They are set to default settings for Blu-ray Disc Viewing, DVD Viewing, Disc Listening, TV Viewing and Radio Listening. But by pressing the SCENE button you can play other sources controlled by that button. Additional SCENE settings are iPod Listening, XM Listening, TV Sports Viewing and Action Game Playing. Rotating the input knob lets you browse and select the settings and watch the on-screen display. These can replace the original settings or be used once, and you can rename SCENE settings as well.
- Compressed Music Enhancer
- This receiver offers a Compressed Music Enhancer to allow you to hear your portable MP3 and WMA files with renewed clarity. This feature uses digital signal processing to enable playback that improves the performance of compressed music formats. It allows you to hear your music closer to how it was before compression for a better listening experience.
- iPod/iPhone Dock or Bluetooth Optional for Portable Music
- The optional YDS-12 Universal Dock lets you connect your iPod or iPhone to the RX-V371 to access your favorite music files. With the optional YBA-10 Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver, it docks to the receiver and supports A2DP audio streaming. This means you can enjoy music wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones, Windows PCs and Macs. The YDS-12 dock is compatible with all the latest iPhone and iPod models, including the iPhone, iPod touch, iPod nano, iPod mini, iPod (4th Gen, 5th Gen and Classic).

purchased product to update home theatre had one less connection ffor speakers so i had to leave the middle rear speaker unconnected. otherwise the receiver is fine.
